Comming Soon: GMC Yukon Denali Hybrid

All of which means we'll see a 6.0-liter Vortec V8 engine with 332 horsepower and 367 lb-ft of torque and up to a 6,200-pound towing capacity...As far as mechanical changes go, the Denali Hybrid will bring the first application of GM's MagnaRide suspension system to the Yukon. As you'd expect in a top-level SUV, the Denali Hybrid will come fully loaded straight from the factory – the only three options will be a sunroof, rear-seat entertainment DVD system and side blind spot alert mirrors...

Hopefully not, I hate those huge decals.

If I had the money I would buy one of these Denali Hybrids though.

Re: Comming Soon: GMC Yukon Denali Hybrid

I thought the Yukon already had it, so now we have the Mailbu, Aura, Silverado, Sierra, Tahoe, Yukon, and Escalade hybrids?

There was already a Yukon, but not a Yukon Denali (until now).

Damn! It would be nice if GM puts the 6.2L V8 on their Yukon Denali hybrid.

Re: Comming Soon: GMC Yukon Denali Hybrid

Are we really selling enough Yukon Hybrids to justify a Denali Hybrid?

That's what I was thinking!

On the other hand.....what on earth will be the difference between the Yukon Hybrid and the Yukon Denali Hybrid (besides the suspension, mentioned in the article)?

When I bought my 2007 Yukon XL Denali, it had the larger engine and a six speed automatic - big differences from the standard Yukon XL. Will there be significant differences between the Hybrid and the Denali Hybrid? "Denali" trim pieces? Not sure the suspension alone and badging/grill would be enough to justify a Denali over a regular Yukon Hybrid.

The hybrid stickers on the Yukon are incredibly ugly - I hope they retire them quickly and replace them with something a little more classy and subtle.

Like the Escalade hybrid, it doesnt have any of the aero or weight saving pieces of the tahoe/yukon hybrids. It also features the MagnaRide suspension system, a first for the Yukon.

The Yukon Denali Hybrid rides on unique 22-inch, eight-spoke, flangeless chrome wheels that make a stylish Denali appearance statement.

Inside, designers filled the cabin with luxurious amenities such as standard 12-way power, heated/cooled leather-appointed perforated front seating and heated, second-row, leather-appointed bench seating. Buyers may choose an Ebony or Cashmere interior. The only three options on this fully equipped vehicle are a sunroof, rear-seat entertainment DVD system and side blind zone alert mirrors.

Enhanced connectivity includes standard OnStar with Directions & Connections and Turn-by-Turn Navigation, navigation radio with rear camera system, a Bose Centerpoint Surround Sound System and three years of real-time XM NavTraffic.

A comprehensive safety package of crashworthiness and crash-avoidance features includes front- and side-impact air bags, anti-lock brakes and StabiliTrak with traction control. The Yukon Denali Hybrid also is equipped with GM's MagnaRide suspension, the first application of this advanced technology in a Yukon. MagnaRide uses magnetic particles in the shock absorber fluid to adjust the damping rate of the shock absorbers – based on road conditions and vehicle dynamics – to help keep tires in contact with the road.

Re: Comming Soon: GMC Yukon Denali Hybrid

Until they sell enough of these to start getting the price down or gas goes to $5 a gallon I don't see GMT900 hybrid sales improving. I did see my first Tahoe hybrid on the road locally yesterday.

Re: Comming Soon: GMC Yukon Denali Hybrid

The Denali line demographic's income level is one of GM's highest and it looks like GM is starting to make the transition for BOF SUV's from the Escalade to the GMC Denali to enable them to move the Escalade to another platform.
