I must have missed the hundred Tundra-Bash-A-Thon threads in its honor.

Forget that.
I'm not taking the time to read another lousy article.
About another MILD WEAK hybrid.
When is GM ever going to field a competitive hybrid?
Like half-past never?
And if GM ever did, the batteries would instantly explode into a five alarm fire.
Crap it looks like Chrysler and Mercedes already have a much better system than GM.
Especially because the GM system only has a 4-speed transmission.
And if GM ever did put a hybrid in a full-size vehicle it would still suck so much gas -more than any mid-size sedan - it would only make sense living in Saudi.
Oh and Toyota and Honda kick GM in the crotch.

GM wasn't smart enough to get into the small hybrid market like Honda and Toyota, and the Japanese are now behind in the hybrid technology department (although still far ahead in sales obviously). Simple as that.
They are only 'enemies' when they compete against one another...even then it's only in the minds of the faithful. GM and Toyota are partners in one plant; GM and Ford in developing the 6 spd tranny as were GM, MB and BMW in developing the 2-Modes.

When it suits the various companies greater purposes they play nice together and they're collaborators.

You don't think it's less than pure coincidence that none of the 4 major hybrid makers compete against one another in these early years. Heck when Toyota and Ford found out that they were developing the same system ... they didn't sue each other or paper the patent office to exclude the other ... they exchanged licenses and just kept on developing in parallel.

This is the way Big Business is done very often. I saw it in my former career, steel. In the field all the big players competed tooth and nail against each other but in the Executive Suites they met all the time to 'discuss' a multitude of cooperative ventures.

WTF? Sarcasm? GM's dual mode system is far more advanced than anything from ToyoHonda.

Ummmmm...........
It would be much appreciated, in the future, if you would be so kind, as to quote what I actually wrote instead of editing it to oblivion before you post it in your reply.

Thanks so much.

Seriously, We need help getting these damn gas-sucking Sequoias off the lot.

Now that's "...editing it to oblivion..."

Your subliminal messaging must be working. I feel like buying a Toyota.

Re: Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon Hybrid SUVs Previewed At Texas State Fair

Gosh, they have talked about the GMT900 hybrids for SUCH a long time. Why can't they just talk about it less, but release it and let it impress with lots of talk when it is finally on the market. I never see Toyota waiting MONTHS to launch a new vehicle.

Re: Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon Hybrid SUVs Previewed At Texas State Fair

Your right. There was no talk or hype around the tundra when it launched. Yeah...right.

Your right. No hype surrounding the new GTR. Nahhhh.

etc., etc., etc.

Fact is, its the firstfull size hybrid SUV. GM not only wants to sell a ton of them, it wants to come off as caring more about the environment than anyone else, especially toyota. Its smart marketing, lots of people will put off buying a vehicle and wait for something they know is coming out soon. Especially when nobody really needs a new car, they just want one.
