Re: Buyers Snap Up Highly Praised Acadia

The Acadia is a really really nice looking vehicle!!! And it performes very well also. It really is the best 8 person crossover! (along with the OUTLOOK)

And Buick of course, has the best 8 person "luxury" crossover!

It's because they KNOW it's shrinking. Sales of the TB/Envoy/ Rainier have been falling for some time now along with the Explorer/Mountaineer.

A good friend just located and bought an Acadia, trading his '96 Expolrer. He loves it. I went with him the day he got it and we drove an Envoy as well. The Acadia is smoother, quieter, larger inside (he needs to haul alot of stuff) and its interior is much nicer. No contest. It took a couple days but the dealer found him one.( My friend didn't like the color of the demo). They had only one Enclave, and couldn't guess when they would have another one available.

I'm sorry, but you're wrong. The Acadia and Outlook share all sheetmetal except the hood. I believe the rear hatch panels are identical too.(The bumper facias and lamps are different, of course). The Enclave shares no sheetmetal with either of the other two, though.

Re: Buyers Snap Up Highly Praised Acadia

I was very impressed with the Outlook when I drove it, miles ahead of the Trailblazer. I am sure that the Acadia is much the same. My only concern is the width of the vehicle in parking lots. A wide vehicle (78 inches, ouch) means more dings on your doors from careless owners who park next to you! If I could find a way to give an electric shock to those who touch (or ding) my vehicle, I'd buy one tomorrow~

I know what you are saying, but I look at Cadillac as being the flagship brand of GM, Chevy is just the volume seller, really the backbone of the whole operation.

You don't know how many times that has crossed my mind while in a parking lot.

Megeebee, the front fenders and quarterpanels are not the same. Notice the flares over the wheels on Outlook have been flattened somewhat at the top. Look at the crease lines through the gas cap carefully. Acadia has an extra crease near the top of the flares. Also the quarter HAD to be changed to hide the rear pillars on the outlook. Looks like roof, doors and hatch are the only common sheetmetal.

Good looking, of course. Good ride? Of course. A mini SUV "tank?" No. More like a cloned SUV "tank." Over priced? By about $10K. We must be talking about America and GM. Yes, sadly enough we are sir.

Trolling again.....if it's so overpriced why is it on the WSJ top 10 list for least days on the lot before selling? At the end of the day, the market sets the price.
