Pay attention to all posts before spewing un-informed information. Use spell check, too, next time.

Gauges are the same, center console, seats, etc. That's what I'm talking about. Not a completely new vehicle, engine, tranny and all.

No full line manufacturer has new engines and transmissions for each vehicle.

Guess that Nissan sucks because the same basic VQ architecture you find in an Infinity you can get in an Altima.

Same for Honda and Acura, Toyota and Lexus, Ford and Lincoln, Hell even some chryslers got mercedes engines.

LOL! At least we can have fun with a little poking fun up here! Some get all bent out of shape. I'm guessing you know what I was trying to convey about "identical" platforms.

Yes I know what you are talking about. Simple fact of the matter is that there is not the resources to do it.

Even if the UAW caves in and a ton of cash gets freed up for the General, I expect that money to go towards further development of the production VOLT and it's derivatives.

Additional cash would go towards upgraded materials and helping meet the rising CAFE standards with additional technology.

GM is in a fight for it's life right now with imports and the US government,

Cash is not going towards making a totally different guage pod for a GMC. If anything, it would go towards upgrading the Caddilac lineup and rushing EPII and Delta II to production.

I almost wish my T&C did! I'm pretty content with the 3.8 thus far, though. They seem to be much better than the smaller V6 offered in the minivans. Wonder how the new 4.0 will fare?

Yeah, GM has gotten themselves into a hole, so to speak, and it will take a while to get back to what we think it should be. If it ever does...

The current things coming down the pipe will help in that regard immensely. I will say that they are differentiating "identical platforms" more recently than they ever have. That's a step in the right direction. With the Lambdas, I hope the Chevy is more minivan-esque as opposed to being a clone of the other three.

Re: Buyers Snap Up Highly Praised Acadia

I get to see one white and one red Acadia at my work (just in the small parking area for my building), goes nicely with the red Sky and the grey Sky that are also there.

When GM makes appealing vehicles they really are good, it won't happen overnight but GM is producing more and more vehicles I like, when i moved to the US from Australia in 99 I was disappointed at GM's product, right now i can rate the majority of vehicles asd desirable, back then the majority were far from desirable.

I have yet to see an Enclave period, at a dealer or on the road. Our local dealer has none.

Re: Buyers Snap Up Highly Praised Acadia

These things are truly moving. I was at the dealer yesterday and they had one Enclave and one Acadia, both were for test drives. They go as fast as they come in. The dealer's very happy. The customers are very happy. A good thing.

Re: Buyers Snap Up Highly Praised Acadia

I stopped by a dealer in north San Diego County and they had a $2,000 (or maybe $3,000 - I don't remember) market adjustment on the 3 Acadias I saw sitting there. They may be nice, but I guarantee I can outwait any "market adjustments."

It won't be a rebadge! It wouldn't take this long if it was, trust me. NSAP's sources and mine have been saying the same thing. You wouldn't say the Enclave is an Acadia rebadge, would you? Because they're not, they're very differentiated. I would say GM's is doing a pretty good job considering it's at a very steep competitive disadvantage, it has a lot of brands and limited resources. You guys have NO idea how hard it is to run a company with major things like this working against you.

Nice to see positive stuff like this about the Acadia, but I thought this comment was stupid. Enclave is nowhere near a clone of the Enclave, and even the Outlook isn't a "clone". Different headlights, grille taillights and a completely different interior.

If you listen carefully, you can hear Saab begging and pleading for Lambda5 to replace their 9-7.
