Re: All-new GMC Terrain!

Globally speaking, the GMC Terrain for Kuwait is a blatant rebadge. YUCK!
As is the Pontiac G8, Vauxhall VXR8 & the Daewoo version(of the Sky/GT)

I think the GMC grill fits well, looks like a junior GMC Acadia.
I guess the rebadge is not a problem since the Opel Antara and Saturn Vue are not sold there.

Re: All-new GMC Terrain!

If they decide to give GMC a car this size in the US, they should import the Captiva instead, to avoid blatent re-badging.

Re: All-new GMC Terrain!

This vehicle convinces me that Saturn shouldn't exist... that looks great... it should be the GMC Torrent (or Terrain... that's a great name!), the Aura should be the G6, the Astra the next G5 (and the Astra wagon could kick the Vibe to the curb), the Sky should be... well an Opel... and the Outlook should swap its Saturn swooshes for a gold bowtie (aka Traverse). There, that was easy.

Like I said above, show me ONE ****just*O*N*E*** example of a GM vehicle sold abroad within the past 3 years that was brought to the USA and sold under the same brand and same name of model/product that did have extensive sheetmetal changes to the US version...with GM.because I must have missed that happening. GTO=nope. G8=nope. Opel to Saturn conversion=Aura/vectra nope. Sky/GT nope. Antara=Vue 08 nope.

I forsee a GMC Terrain being a Saturn Vue with 'insert grill here' and different wheels. GM has done nothing to demonstrate otherwise.

It is. Why design two seperate cars when you can use one in two countries? Thats how Toyota and Honda maximized profit from their investment. its smart as long as you dont sell the same car side by side, which they wont.

Yeah, like how Toyota sells most of the Scions as Dihatsu's elsewhere in the world. As long as they don't rebadge a Diahatsu as a Toyota to sell alongside Scions in the US there's no overlap.

Ummmm, duh! I know that, thats why I don't understand the Terrain...its supposed to replace the Pontiac Torrent HERE in the USA but it looks like a SATURN VUE which is sold in the USA. Why sell a saturn vue knockoff and embarrass GMC in the USA

thats my point.

Not true. Neither of the Scions is sold as Daihatsu. The xD is rebadged as Toyota ist for Japan, but no Daihatsu variant exists (the original xA was a rebadged first-gen ist in turn). The new xB was recently introduced as "Corolla Rumion" (). The old xB was a Toyota bB, but the new one is bigger and unrelated. The current Toyota bB is also sold as Daihatsu Coo in Japan and exclusively exported as Daihatsy Materia, but neither is related to a Scion. The only interesting Scion, the tC, is not sold anywhere else than North America and under any other name.

Re: All-New Arabian GMC Terrain!

Walks like a duck, qwacks like a duck...

Why doesn't GM just sell every car/truck they make with any grill steering wheel cover you want? (how funny would that be!) Who cares if its a saturn rebadge. If the vehicle is decent, it loses 20% of its value a year, and sucks down petrol to keep big oil happy who cares? I personally would have called it the GMC Vue. Do you have any idea how much those little plastic name badges on the back cost?! Not to mention the tradmarking costs, etc. Call Lutz. I just saved him a cool mil.
(yeah I am a little more bitter than usual tonight, sorry guys)

There's no 'Saturn' presence outside of the US. So, should they sell it as a Saturn in the Middle East?

It only makes sense to rebadge it to reflect the brand positioning in that market.

If this GMC were to be sold in the US, then you'd have a point.
