Algae-filled Hummer wins 'green car' contest

In the corporate imagination of General Motors, Hummer could be transformed from the SUV that environmentalists love to hate to an algae-infused, oxygen-exuding buggy that would open up like a flower.

This is great for GM. Hopefully this will raise their reputation to being an environmentally friendly car company.

Re: Algae-filled Hummer wins 'green car' contest

I thought this was going to be a joke. Like someone filled an H2 entirely up with Algae or something. On the contrary, this is awesome! Kudos to General Motors Advanced Design! Way to beat out all the other supposed green brands, WITH A HUMMER!!! I love it.

Algae are little sea plants kinda like moss on trees. If you've ever had a fish tank its that nasty green stuff stuck to the side

Ugly as all get out, but pretty cool system. And it's a Hummer, take that left wing Hollywood nut-jobs!

That's great, but it looks like your color options are limited.

Good to see something with the Hummer name win it. In reality, they could've put Buick, GM, Chevrolet, or any other GM moniker on the front of the thing.

Re: Algae-filled Hummer wins 'green car' contest

that's what a Hummer should look like! NO overhangs, lots of ground clearance, and big, beefy tires. form following function as it should. the fact that it's environmentally friendly only makes it better. it's not pretty, but it works. that was the idea behind the original Jeep and the HMMWV. good job GM.

goodpoint as for something like the hummer that has a reputation of being an enviroment impact of polutting the earth and being a big waste of resources i think its a good kick in the junk for all the hippies that vandelise theses trucks.

the mercedez looks decent IMO, as for the Toyota, their reasons for the pedaling is totaly LAME!!!!! (of course it just had to be said.)

out

Re: Algae-filled Hummer wins 'green car' contest

GOod to hear for Hummer. Thats the press I like to see, unfortunately, I don't think it'll get much more than that. I just want to see a Hummer with an interior that rivals a RR...sigh.
