Cool Acadia intelligent AWD for 2008

I know I read something about this earlier this year. The most recent thing I found was on MSN autos as listed below:

New for 2008
After debuting for the 2007 model year, the 2008 GMC Acadia adds more equipment including a rearview camera system, Panic Brake Assist, standard XM satellite radio and a second-row seating console. To improve driving dynamics, an Intelligent AWD system has been added and the traction control system has been refined. Carbon Flash Metallic, Dark Crimson and Platinum Ice Metallic are three new exterior colors.

Hopefully, this will bring all of the Lambda's more in line with the MDX SH-AWD. I hope an auto mag picks up on this for a follow-on test.

Too bad no DI 3.6 yet, the extra power and new software would probably totally resolve all the transmission complaints.

Exclamation Re: Acadia intelligent AWD for 2008

I wish GM wouldn't "trickle" in new hardware/engines, etc. I think the 3.6 DI with 300+ hp would be just the ticket, especially with this new AWD system! It would smack around the Acura and Lexus RX and everything else on the market!!!!

It already had AWD, so they are putting in a new one?

You know SH-AWD is just an oxymoron? It's just the Pilot AWD with a marketing name.

Anyone knows where GM gets it's AWD units from? Borg Warner? Haldex?

The one on the CTS is Borg Warner. Not sure on the Lambda's.

Are you sure? I'm pretty sure the Pilot does not transfer power to the outside rear wheel under acceleration while cornering.

I like the Acadia. Looks sharp and has alot of room. Hope to see more nice improvements for it!

Active-Intelligent AWD has always been in the AWD Lambdas. It's good.

I thought at intitial launch, the lambda's were only able to shift the power from front to rear, not side to side like in the Acura....and that was the "intelligent" part for 2008.
If not I stand corrected, and therefore this post is mute.
