Could you imagine though?? I can see the frame just ripping itself to pieces when you mashed the gas.

It would be epic though...

Actually, jeep has a few diesel models but they get lousy mileage. GM gas engines get better mileage in this segment.

The Terrain does show some promise. I would like to see it in a Denali version.

Around me it's probably about 90% Denalis and the other 10% are work vehicles.

Wouldn't take much to plug this powertrain in:

I think a Denali will come but it will be in a year or two.

Right now GM needs to get supply out there ASAP.

Diesels will never die....

The VW TDI gets HUGE milage, decent power and some torque to pass. Besides, when there will be no more gasoline, I will just pour in some canola oil and keep on truckin'

I can understand that from a numbers perspective doing a Denali trim probably has more immediate, financial upside potential (low cost to manufacture generating a big return in terms of sales price.) In terms of doing a diesel it could have a more substantial image potential but it might not generate a return for quite some time.

I would prefer the focus to be on a diesel powertrain as opposed to a trim option.
The EPA ruined diesel plans for the US. With this urea injection, like a vehicle needs another tank under it.

Not all diesel systems require urea injection to clean up the emissions.

Here it comes? Guess I hadn't heard they were finally doing it. Originally the Acadia Denali was intended to get the LS4 V8; is that still in the cards as well?

I doubt it...the LS4 died with the Impala SS I thought.

I'll show interest in a Denali when it boasts alcantara headliners and soft-close doors. Until that point, additional chrome plastic is just not enough for me to take serious.

Is that Opel diesel NA emissions compliant? If so, i'd say it's a go... build a few thousand and post the MPG #s... a cute ute with TWO models offering better HWY MPG than the Escape Hybrid... come-on, that's got to be worth something..?
