Re: 2009 Chevrolet Silverado Hybrid: "A no-compromises truck"
It may be a drop in towing but the average person needs no where near the 10,500 of the regular silverado, its a truck for the person that says they "NEED" a truck to pull there runabout boat once a month, so in that regards no there isnt a comprimise, and it still has great performance.

Re: 2009 Chevrolet Silverado Hybrid: "A no-compromises truck"
It is truely great that the truck has the 6.0L V8 w/cyl deactivation, Stabilitrak, and the trailer pack...but what if I don't want all those features. Give me the 2-mode transmission w/3.6L V6, AWD, no navigation, no leather, standard wheels, etc. Can I get the Silverado Hybrid in a "stripped-down" package? With all the extra do-dads gone, I bet the fuel consumption would go up a few mpg & the price may be more reasonable.

Re: 2009 Chevrolet Silverado Hybrid: "A no-compromises truck"
Not likely. Those extra "do-dads" are there so it looks like you're getting value. In reality, they throw those on to hide the true cost of the hybrid system. The extra goodies are effectively zero-cost to the manufacturer. Do you really think a Nav system costs anywhere close to $2k to install? Or $800 for a sunroof? That's all markup.
