No doubt that word "Classic" will be a big help at resale time.

Re: 2007 Silverado/Sierra "Classic" Pricing

to think you can buy a fullsize pickup for only 15.8 man thats cheap! I reallly like GM's idea of clearing out excess / old inventory and selling "classic"s as opposed to just naming it nothing, then you know its the last year or two of the previous model being sold and its a good way to market the vehicles while they ramp up production on the new 900's.

Re: 2007 Silverado/Sierra "Classic" Pricing

If you think about it and the timeline originally, the new trucks werent due until 2007 actual year. everything, tahoe, suburban, silverado, got pushed up 6 months to make more money for GM quicker. Keeping these trucks around another month was already planned for and taken care of. GM is just continuing that without disrupting the chain. If they just ditched the GMT800s thaeyd lose the last bit of moneyt hey had invested in the final six months.

Re: 2007 Silverado/Sierra "Classic" Pricing

So when the new Silverado/Sierra comes out, they plan to keep the old models for a time? How about a Tahoe Classic or a Suburban Classic.

Wouldn't you just love to have a new car called the classic? And don't bring up the Caprice or something...

Ford did the same thing with the F-150. when the 1997 model came out in 1996, it was sold right alongside the old body 1996 models. then when the current body came out in 2004, the old body F-150 was sold as well, as an '04 model, but referred to as the F-150 Heritage. it's their way of keeping production and sales going while transferring factory tooling over for a new model.

Re: 2007 Silverado/Sierra "Classic" Pricing

I've seen ads on the internet for them now, but I don't know when they're going on sale. I have a feeling that GM will introduce them early (maybe now???) in an attempt to fudge their '07 sales figures and take Ford's crown.

Re: 2007 Silverado/Sierra "Classic" Pricing

I prefer my Classic '87 Custom Deluxe just fine! I like the features and all the bells and whistles that the new ones have but there's nothing like an old truck that still looks nice and manages to turn heads on the road...

Chevrolet: Like A Rock. The Most Dependable Longest Lasting Trucks on the Road! When you Die! Chevrolet will still be there...

*based upon what I say and nothing else.

Will 800s and 900s count together in yearly totals?
