When do we get to see the Escalade and GMC's? The interior of the Cadillac sounds too good to be true!

Re: 2007 GMT-900 Information

This is a ton of information. I read the first part of the post thinking that was it, then it just went on and on! At least you can't say GM is holding back information, which is good.

The only thing that stood out to me is the transmissions again. I am beginning to think GM is just committed to putting all their development dollars into making the engines more efficient and not bothering to upgrade all their tramsissions to 5 or 6 speeds.

Like it or not, there are people out there that won't look so much at the mileage figures on the sticker (even if they are higher than the competitors), but instead may view it only having a 4 speed automatic as being way behind the competition.

The video from GM TV said that we'd see the Yukon on October 5th, and the Escalade would be unveiled some time in early November.

If you look at the hi-res photo of the Tahoe's interior, it has a knob on the right of the steering wheel that has 2 Hi, Auto, 4 Hi, and 4 Lo choices.

At this point, as someone else pointed out, it's probably more an issue of manufacturing capacity more than anything else... GM makes a LOT of 4 speeds for GMT-800s (and 360s, etc), and converting all (or worse, only some, because then you have to keep a line making the 4 speeds too) of that capacity to a new 6 speed design (which exists...) is no doubt a substantial expense...

Funny, the Escalade info mentions NOTHING about 8 dvd screens.

I wonder if we'll ever see "James" post again.....

I hope this means there is a posibility that there might be a SFA in the heavy duty models like the 2500HD's. A new, stronger fully boxed frame, LBZ Duramax and a SFA would be fantastic.

Re: 2007 GMT-900 Information

If capacity is an issue, fine, but make the 6-speed available with the DOD/VVT engine. At least in the escalade.

Escalade mechanical details haven't been announced yet... have they?
