07 Tahoe Starts At $ 33,990

Link: media.gm.com

DETROIT – Chevrolet today announced the all-new Tahoe will be priced at $33,990 for the LS model equipped with a standard 5.3L engine. This new vehicle is priced approximately $2,000 below its predecessor. The 2007 Tahoe goes on sale at Chevrolet dealers across the country today.

“Tahoe has been the best-selling full-sized SUV since 2001. The 2007 model is the best Tahoe yet, and we are bringing it to the marketplace at a great value,” said Ed Peper, Chevrolet general manager. “This is very consistent with our recent pricing of other launch vehicles, making America's number one brand, Chevrolet, also America's number one value.”

The starting price for a Tahoe LT 5.3L is $35,740; and an LTZ, equipped with a 5.3L engine begins at $44,015. All prices include $875 Destination Freight Charge (DFC) and are 2WD.

The new Tahoe takes over at the top of the segment not only in sales, but also in fuel economy. When combined with improved aerodynamics, the small-block V-8 gives the Tahoe the segment’s best fuel economy. Two-wheel-drive models equipped with the 5.3L engine have EPA estimates at 16 mpg in the city and 22 on the highway. Tahoe was the first full-sized SUV with an EPA estimated highway mpg over 20.

“We know customers are looking for fuel-efficient, high quality vehicles that offer more standard equipment at competitive prices, and that’s what we are delivering,” said Peper. “This strategy, which we started last year, helped Chevrolet become the best-selling vehicle brand in the United States for the first time since 1986.”

Hold the applause until we see if the dealer margin was also cut.

This new pricing appears to be a little tricky...

while less than previous years, still not low enough. Would be nice to see the LS start at less than $30k w/ all the standard equip it has now. Have the LTZ start at less than $40k, where a fully loaded LTZ 4WD is ~$44-46k.

Looks like they still left room for incentives to me. I was hoping for somewhat lower pricing.

Yes they did. The 2006 is going for $34,990 - $5500 rebate = $29,490. There's still $3500 in the 2007 price for rebates to get to true "value pricing". What a shame.

Meh. It really doesn't feel like that big a deal. I still think that it should have started below $30K.

Buy a Trailblazer! Where does the Sequoia start? Armada?Expedition?
The Tahoe is superior to every one of these trucks. The price is fantastic!

No need to apologize for anything.
07 Tahoe!

No reason here to not go with a Tahoe.
Tahoe 5.3 V8 320 hp
Sequoia 4.7 V8 282 hp
Armada 5.6 V8 305 hp
Expedition 5.4 V8 300 hp
Only Tahoe has Onstar, remote vehicle starter, rainsense wipers, heated second row seats, power release 2nd row seats,
07 Tahoe = Best combination of power and versatility.
07 Tahoe = Segment leading fuel economy.
07 Tahoe = Segment leading refinement you can see hear and feel.
Tahoe has finished ahead of the Toyota Sequoia in JD power initial quality every year since Sequoia's introduction.
Not bad!

These people have to make money too! Cutting 2k from the sticker is a solid cut, and you can probably negotiate another 500-1000 off from the dealer as well. I think it's a fair deal for a best in class product.

Re: 07 Tahoe Starts At $ 33,990

Autoweek says a 4.8 V8 is comming, I wonder if they will price it that a bit lower? Sort of a budget Tahoe, with cheaper wheels, tires, no roof luggage rack, etc? Would be an interesting $29,500, though I must admit I was hoping the LS 5.3 would have started at $29,950. Since that isn't happening a budget Tahoe would be nice. Perhaps they are concerned about a cheaper Tahoe interfering with the Trailblazer and even Equinox?

Re: 07 Tahoe Starts At $ 33,990

I don't understand why GM doesn't just take the 5500 off right off the bat instead of MSRPing it at a higher Price. Kust make it right under 30k and keep it there. That way you don't worry about incentive BS and consumers know what they are paying before they even see one.

You just know GM has another $2000 to $3000 up their sleeve for the Tahoe for late summer or end of year deals. You just know it. So unless you HAVE to have one now, just wait a few months. I am curious to see the invoice prices compared to 2006 Tahoes.

Re: 07 Tahoe Starts At $ 33,990

Should have been more like $30,990. The new price is only like $700 less than the Expidition base price. They needed something dramatic to really show they were serious and really attract some traffic. If people thought they were getting a good value, they would be more likley to consider a Tahoe, over getting a car or smaller SUV for MPG.

Re: 07 Tahoe Starts At $ 33,990

the price is fine, omg, if GM takes it lower they'll loser money. It doesn't have to be that much cheaper than the competitors, it outclasses all of them. end of story.`1
