The sad thing is it's all just opinions because we'll never get to see it done!

If this plan goes ahead chances are that you wont see any current NASCAR drivers in the field in the short term anyway
It's going to be 1 race out of a season not a full fledged series
It will hold curiosity value for most
Nascar is successful becouse its a reality TV soap set on a racetrack....
with an audience...
Its not about racing; really...

The door-banging action of Australia’s popular V8 Supercar Series is the latest schedule addition to the Circuit of The Americas under construction in Austin, Texas.
V8 Supercars and Circuit of The Americas (COTA), along with Texas Gov. Rick Perry and Queensland Premier Anna Bligh, announced a five-year agreement Thursday to bring the globe-trotting series to Travis County beginning in 2013.
“For the looks, I think the Charger tries too hard to look cool. It's the fat guy with a bald patch wearing fiery tattoos and a muscle shirt. The G8 is the mixed martial arts champion that strolls around in dockers and a golf shirt because he knows how to fight and doesn't feel the need to impress anyone with a tough guy outfit."
It's official! Holden to return to US in 2013!!....
well, in motorsport form anyway!
THE V8 Supercars Championship will make its debut on United States soil in 2013.
An announcement was made early today (Australian time) outlining a five-year deal for Australia’s premier racing series to compete at the new Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas.
The new arrangement will make the United States the fifth offshore venue to host the V8 Supercars Championship in its history, joining New Zealand, China, Bahrain and Abu Dhabi.

They should possibly merge the threads - ths other one was speculation this one is fact
Whats the bet the Holdens will be rebadged as Chevy's when they race?
Seems a coincidence that the Zeta Chev's might be on sale there then!
Tony Cochrane talks Texas
Even though I was never a fan of his he can certainly drive a car around a road course.
On the plus side, at least it is a proper race circuit and not another damn 'street race'.
I do wish they would drop Hamilton (NZ) and move the race weekend to Hampton Downs. Then I will bother to go along and watch.
Wasn't Tony Stewart test driving V8 Supercars when he was in Australia an punched some track manager out? Or was that something else?
