if the Impala is going RWD in a few years from now why dont they just have the upcoming Malibu replace the monte carlo in Nascar since it will be here way soon and it will replace the impala as a camry competitor anyway.

Because switching to the Impala for NASCAR means they only have to change the tailllight and name decals on the racecars.

If the manufacturers were smart, they'd just use their name and not the model name. That way it wouldn't matter which model they had. Just calll it a Dodge, Chevy, Toyota, or Ford.

Another thing, when Dodge was running the "Intrepid" until the Charger came out, did anyone notice that it had a Stratus nose on it? It never had the true Intrepid front. Why didn't they just call it a Stratus then?

Yea, I noticed that too. Dodge told their teams and announcers to just call it a Dodge, not an Intrepid.
