Chevrolet Impala SS Gets First COT Victory, But Winner Not Impressed
BRISTOL, Tenn. — Chevrolet, which has most vigorously embraced the change to a new-generation NASCAR racing car, was rewarded when Kyle Busch drove an
Busch didn't do much to enhance Chevy's marketing campaign, though. After winning, he remarked, "I can't stand to drive [the new cars]. They suck." Another Chevy driver who had criticized the new car, Tony Stewart, dominated the race until the fuel-pump drive failed in his Impala. Busch won in a close finish with Jeff Burton, and Jeff Gordon — who started on the pole — and Daytona 500 winner Kevin Harvick made it a 1-2-3-4 sweep for the new Impala... |

I hope the new car grows on me, but I thought they made the normally exciting Bristol race a real bore. To me the wings are an abomination.

Did you notice that right after the race, NASCAR.com had this as the headline-
"COT a Suck-cess" but was changed about an hour later!!! IMO, the thing looks like a truck now!

Re: Chevrolet Impala SS Gets First COT Victory, But Winner Not Impressed
I was at Bristol. Only one person seem to have their act together. It was Tony Stewart until he had parts fail.
The COT was hard for me to tell the difference in brands. I am sure it will grow on me. The racing wasn't the usual slam fest. I blame the Chase for the Race just as much as the COT. Every race counts, and they have to finish well. They seem to have taken some of the fun out of this track. The COT just compounded the issue.

I love Nascar, and I love the Impala SS....but nobody crossed the finish line in an Imapala SS. It was a race car with a decal that said Imapala SS on it. Nothing more.
