Is it me or did anyone else find that guy's voice annoying?

Overall, a pretty good review for the Astra. It seems the VW Golf owners gave it a better grade. I would love to get one

1.4L turbo getting up to 48mpg???? Awesome...and a lot more than GM is letting us believe that it could get in the USA.

I believe it's rated at 48 mpg under Euro calculation. US is different.

Seems the Astra is excelling at what most people want it for and that it comfort with a little sport thrown in. Folks are going to have to wait for the hot versions to have more fun in an Astra.

From the Vauxhall web site:
http://www.vauxhall.co.uk

2010 Astra 1.4L Turbo with a 6-speed automatic
Combined fuel consumption 40.4mpg = 33.64 US MPG

2010 Astra 1.4L Turbo with a 6-speed manual:
Combined fuel consumption 47.9mpg = 39.885 US MPG

Also, bear in mind that the testing methodology is different than the EPA tests.

English gallons are larger than American gallons. By about 20% says Wikipedia.

Re: (Video) New Vauxhall Astra driven - and reviewed by autocar.co.uk

A good review and he seemed impressed with the Astra's design and quality of materials with only minor criticism of some of the dash buttons and a suspension bit softer than he liked.

The 48 MPG translates into about 40 (48 * .83 = 39.84 MPG U.S.).

The Golf owner's quick, positive and enthusiastic approval of the Astra was encouraging, not that they are buying an Astra today, but it is the kind of feedback you want to see and hear for a new model.

The Astra looked very good in the video with low road noise and I liked how the tailights "arrows" looked in the daylight driving conditions.
