Vauxhall Corsa VXR Arctic Edition Announced

Source: http://www.worldcarfans.com/9080717....tion-announced

Quote:
Along with the help from the most successful team of the modern BTCC era, VX Racing, Vauxhall has revealed the Corsa VXR Arctic Edition which will make its debut next week at the British Motor Show in London. Only 500 Corsa VXR Arctic Editions will be sold in the UK sporting a unique Glacier White exterior colour, bespoke black 18-inch V-spoke alloy wheels with ultra-low profile 225/35 tyres and a Remus Sports exhaust. Arctic Editions also get an electrically operated sliding glass sunroof with interior blind, dark tinted rear windows and a black-painted roof and door mirrors.

As a result of the Remus sport exhaust, Vauxhall claims the power output is increased by 15PS over the standard Corsa VXR's 1.6-litre turbocharged engine which produces 192PS. At £16,995, the Arctic Edition is just £995 more than the standard Corsa VXR and is on sale now.

Re: Vauxhall Corsa VXR Arctic Edition Announced

My kind of car.

If it were sold here, it would be in my driveway right now.

I guess I will wait for the Mazdaspeed2...

Whoa... now that's a hot little car. That needs to come over as a Pontiac or Chevy or something other than Saturn where it will be ignored.

Now if GM sold small cars like this in NA maybe more people would want them.

This is my current favorite GM car. I wish I could buy one, but we in the USA don't like small cars, per Pope Lutz.

Chevy has enough small cars coming up, and if a Pontiac version was made it will probably have a BMW knockoff grill, a bunch of ricer scoops, uglier-than-sin wheels, and a optional 3-ft wing.

That car is awesome! I'd say it'd be in my driveway, but knowing GM they would have it marked up wayyyy too much for what it is.

Yaris size.

Modern subcompact cars are pretty good size vehicles... they are just relatively small.

We're supposed to get the next generation Corsa in NA. Hopefully, they don't water it down by then.

It looks nice and low to the ground, unlike these tall, tippy subcompacts that proliferate today.

But the Corsa looks much lower to the ground, like the Mini Cooper, which allows for more secure, sporty handling. The Yaris is tall and tippy, and skittish on the highway.

A ~110hp Honda Fit S cost $16k+ - I'd say a car like the VXR would run ~$21k. I'm sure some people would like it for that price, but probably not very many would buy it.

Well of course. The Corsa VXR is the "hot" version of the Corsa.

The regular Corsa is just as mundane as the Yaris.
