Hell no, no way I can say that,
maybe an awd version of this could be rebodied/restyled to be an impala SS?

Re: Spy Shots: Opel Insignia OPC

I have a vague recollection of talk about Holden building a twinturbo version
of the HF V6 for Saab.
2.8li I think.

Could be that one!

I thought that Gm's Twin Turbo HF V6 engine was cancelled?
I think so too, that the 3.0 V6 TT was cancelled.

I don't heard about it.

But I think that the OPC will use the 2.8 V6 Turbo with more HP like the base
Engine.
Estimated: Base=260hp;255lbs/ft OPC=300hp;295lbs/ft

Re: Spy Shots: Opel Insignia OPC

I just remember that when Holden first released the Hf v6 in the Cdore there was a lot of talk about what could be done with it.
They were talking about Direct injection, a Twin spark version for Alfa Romeo and rumour was that the (i think) 9-5 would use a Twin Turbo version
built by Holden is Australia and exported to Saab.

Maybe someone might still have some old articles on the release of the VZ Cdore to see what was said.

Correct.... Alfa take the Holden 3.2L block and add their own goodies, and Holden build for SAAB a 2.8L with a twin scroll turbo. More here

Re: Spy Shots: Opel Insignia OPC

Yesterday i read, that there will be a 2.8 TwinTurbo V6 for the OPC/VRX
Version. It should generate 300hp.

That's a retarded reason not to sell it. A fully loaded Accord, and a base Acura TL are near the same price, a fully loaded Camry costs just as much as a base ES, and the Altima/Maxima can creep up into G35 range in terms of price. Lastly, I can almost guarantee that someone looking at a Cadillac CTS won't be cross shopping it with a Saturn. And with that logic, why the hell is the G8 even here? That being said, why shouldn't GM sell this car in the US?

Re: Spy Shots: Opel Insignia OPC

If Pontiac has the G6 GXP, why can't Saturn get this??

BTW, does anyone know how well Pontiac is doing on the G6 GXP?

Re: Spy Shots: Opel Insignia OPC

who was supposed to develop the 3.0 V6 TT?
who was supposed to build it?
which cars to be placed in?

Insignia OPC will get a regular 2.8 Turbo (not twin..) but a lot more than only 300 hp..

G6 GXP is just an poor and gaudy appearance package on a regular 252 hp 3.6L model. Not exactly "performance" since its pained only with an automatic.
