Re: SAAB Aero Academy Closing their Doors

I had no idea this existed. Guess Saab hasn't been real effective spreading the word. Perhaps this would have been a better advertising tool for the TV ads then the Jet taking a flaming poop on the car...

Then again the one time I stopped at a Saab dealer (looking for the rebadged Subaru) I was quickly shooed away by the salesman. I would have thought he'd be friendlier considering their were no other customers. Though I have to admit my Saturn Vue probably didn't convey that I could afford a Saab.

Guess it is cutback time. Ouch.

Re: SAAB Aero Academy Closing their Doors

Why don't they just shut the whole brand down?

Sell the Saab 94X as a Saturn.

Mk, got that figured out.
I don't like Saab if you didn't notice already.

Cadillac FTW!

maybe they will reinvent it for all GM hybrids or alter. fuel vehicles so people can test drive new tech.

No need to close the doors at Saab, just sell it. But first, take the XWD system, and all the knowledge of the turbocharging that GM learned, they may need it later.

Re: SAAB Aero Academy Closing their Doors

Actually, when I test drove a 9-3 a few years back, they also told me about the Aero academy.

Perhaps I really need to consider this again, or buy a XWD car, or a Turbo X, so I could do some of this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q0ckv3fbg44

Or perhaps Saab really needs to get back to rallying...

Saab used it in ads.
And it is displayed in all Saab dealerships.
But as Saab gets folded into the GM collective and is assimilated into stupidity, things that made niche brands special and attracted customers who wanted a more unique car and experience are disappearing.

One more reason why GM needs to sell Saab.

Just watch... they'll get rid of European delivery too... Stupid

Re: SAAB Aero Academy Closing their Doors

Here's an idea: Give Saab the Delta II, Epsilon II and Theta-Epsilon platforms and let them build the cars they want, not just restyled, Swede-built Vectras that are regulated by Detroit. Maybe then they could sell enough cars to keep things like this going.
