Opel Meriva spied getting ready for minor facelift

Opel is preparing a modest revision for the Opel Meriva which should go on sale sometime next year.

After spying the Insignia and its Sports Tourer variant, now it's time to take a look at the refreshed Meriva which as you can see is wearing a minimal amount of camouflage meaning there aren't any major changes planned. It will receive new daytime running lights and a revised front bumper.

Meriva sales were down harshly in 2012, so this will be a much needed facelift.

I think these would play well in the US as a Buick MPV? The suicide doors are kinda of a neat gimmick.

I'v driven the 1.4T its not bad at all. Its very nice inside has a premium feel to it. As for the suicide doors they better than you actually think they are.

Its regrettable that Saturn had to die, this would have been perfect in the line up. Anyway, since there is a demand for premium city cars, this would be perfect for Buick. Oh just bump the engine to a 2.0 and put in a Buick specific interior.

Weirdly, I somehow don't see this as being ideal for Buick in the near term. Maybe the next generation? Idk. It's a nice vehicle, just that for whatever reason I feel like Buick should receive other things first (Adam, more of the Astra lineup here as the Verano, etc).

Please don't make this ugly thing a Buick. Opel has some cool products, but some of them are just ugly. The Opels that should should become a Buick is the Adam, Cascada and OPC.

The Encore is basically a rebodied Meriva. But I'd have preferred Buick getting the Meriva with a lifted AWD version. It's much better looking than the Encore. And they share an instrument panel as it is.
