I like the presence of this car. Very masculine. And that’s a good thing in this category. Most are feminine. I like this very much as a Saturn.

Right, there in most SUV's, but they're also in now on premium brands (eg (mercedes) and even flagships for brands (eg, vw).

Not sure of the technical added value, but I at least associate them in my mind with luxury, much like xeon headlights and inboard nav -- even though portable gps systems make more sense than inboard nav systems, there's something about having that inboard nav screen. Again, my 2 cents

I wasn't even aware of that. Xeon headlights and in dash navigation are still expensive options but they are available in most cars now a days, not just luxury makes (Less so on the Xeon headlamps).

I'll say it again. The best looking GM cars are outside the US. And they wonder why the US is unprofitable

Up until recently I would say yes. Cars like the CTS, and Malibu are proof that GM is once again serious about making class leading cars for the US.

BEAUTIFUL car!
Taxed on engine displacement? That's the stupidest idea I've ever heard but it's done here via the GGT.

What people fail to realize is that miles driven is also a factor in fuel consumed.

High displacement vehicles with low miles driven can be no different then low displacement vehicles with high miles driven. Shouldn't the tax be on consumption? But it is!! Haven't you heard of the gas tax??

That's one nice looking car. It resembles the BMW 3 Series sedan. If it were badged as a Chevy and sold in the US (Cobalt replacement??) and considering gas prices as they are, we'd see this baby all over the roads ... and one in my driveway.

This car will be the next Saturn Aura for the US Market.
It is the new Epsilon 2 platform and the next Malibu will use it too.
The next Cobalt will use the new Delta 2 platform. (Delta actually Saturn Astra)

Germany and other European Countrys will use in the Future an CO2 emission tax. (more cosumption = higher CO2 emission = higher tax)

I am curious, do all these taxes upset Europeans? It seems whenever your governments get a chance they try to tax you to death.

Re: Opel Insignia Revealed Officially!

So after everyone raves on this car, Lutz goes out today and says that the Saturn version will look different inside and out?

That's the problem with the current Aura! That it looks different from Opel's inside and out!

What happened to the much-touted Opel/Saturn lookshare? If the Insignia essentially doesn't make it to the US it's just another sign of GM's inept wasting of ready resources.

Re: Opel Insignia Revealed Officially!

I've driven 2 of Insignias, while been in Russelsheim.

One of them was 130hp diesel, other - top 260 hp V6 4x4. Can you imagine, which I liked more?

I think that 110-115Hp is a good engine for enterring a midsize. but all the joy you will get with something bigger.
the car looks much better in real life than in pictures. one of colors is, i would say ol'good "british racing green". that ones look awesome.

Interior - what can I say - If it is Opel - it s a quantum leap up
