When do we get this in the USA? For those that don't understand the 115HP 4 cyl. let me just say $8 gasoline.

7 Engine choices! AWD, manual transmissions! Holy Moly! The entire Saturn lineup only has 5 engines and only 2 manual trans offerings. Good choices breed good decisions!

Again, this is not unusual for Europe where they are taxed by their engine's displacement -- an idea I personally believe is long overdue for the USA. Those who are using up more of our nation's energy resources should be willing to pay a higher cost for the 'privilege' in addition to their increased personal expense of having to buy more gasoline more often.

Americans need to wake up to the reality of today's world ... Our days of oil gluttony should have already ended ages ago. But I digress ...

BEAUTIFUL car!

I wish. Until I see something official in writing, I'm going to assume the standard GM NA line of "there isn't enough demand".

For those who enjoy looking at larger, higher-res photos:

http://www.km77.com/00/opel/insignia/g01.asp

You might save this page to your Favorites because they'll add the interior shots as they become available. I can't find any of them that were online just a few days ago ...

I'll add new photos to the fist post as GM releases them.

Don't expect anymore shots until the London show in July though....

Re: Opel Insignia Revealed Officially!

This is really sharp and will be a real competitor to VW Passat, and Passat CC. Very well executed now move those side repeater lights into the mirrors GM!

BTW, hi-res photos can be viewed right from GM Media website, and there's also a teaser video.

Most definitely. As an Opel, I am in strong approval. But badged as a Saturn, I am downright thrilled. There's no American car like it.

And if GM can't sell this thing over here as an Aura, then one of two things needs to happen:

(1) All of GM's leadership needs to be replaced
- OR -
(2) Saturn needs to be ditched.

This car is beautiful inside and out. It should sell itself.

...and I wonder if we're also looking at the new Malibu.

Re: Opel Insignia Revealed Officially!

It's bleh to me. The overstyled trunk/spoiler thing, the Bangle butt and side detail, the puffy front nose. No thanks.

Can't decide if I like the current Aura or this better?

Very nice stuff coming from Saturn aside from the VUE which is scary ugly.

This is the new Saturn Aura.In North America, this car will be made at the Fairfax plant.I don't know why you is going on a foolish rant about GM.
