Re: Official? Pics of Insignia Leaked

The front end is ugly. Another victim of pedestrian safety standards. Ick.

Re: Official? Pics of Insignia Leaked

It's a lil' more subdued than what I anticipated but an overall descent execution of an evolution in design of the Aura/Insignia. I think the bad camera angle detracts from the front fascia as it is difficult to make any car look good from this vanish point.

That is a very sweet looking car. Anybody want to photochop a Saturn grill on this thing?

Good heavens, it looks far better than I thought it would! Very sharp! Will make a fantastic Aura!

Re: Official? Pics of Insignia Leaked

It looks pretty nice, but it looks like one of the designers sketching the car sneezed and drew a ??? and GM never did fix it. That's just weird. Again, otherwise it's pretty nice.

Re: Official? Pics of Insignia Leaked

Ok first off I don't see Camry anywhere in this car. This car has style and we all know Toyota doesn't know what that is. I do see a little of the Malibu, but I also see a little Audi in there as well. You can definitely see that this car is from Germany. As a current Aura owner, I really hope this makes if over the pond as an Aura. This is exactly what Saturn needs to move itself more upscale. I'm definitely loving the tail end. Those tail lights are hot!

The Insignia uses a new switchgear system that was designed to be used by Opel and SATURN.

This nose...

Looks a lot like this nose...

Especially the large grill, and the headlights (but just slightly).

Looks like a good car, and the interior is extremely sharp. Hopefully the Aura is not watered down.

VERY Current G35 in the greenhouse! The body line down the side of the car too. The upside down hockey crease is very unique!! The car has very tight pannel fit, it looks TOO good to come to America.
A very hot sedan, no doubt about it!! Malibu has a more muscular look compared to this softer flowing design.

Re: Official? Pics of Insignia Leaked

Well, I'm not a really a sedan type of guy, but that is one sweet design. I do think the Opel version does have some resemblance to the turd Camry, but I'm sure the Aura will be slightly different to follow the Saturn design queue. It would be awesome to finally see an Aura RL with a TT 3.6 with awd. The interior design from the pics look outstanding to me.

That is good to know, I hope GM is moving from the insert radio here tradation for good. Even with Chevy. That is just not acceptable anymore.
The Steering wheel looks like its borrowed from Holden/G8

From what I've heard the "Insert radio here" option will be gone from most GM cars by CY2010. Of course lets hope the replacement head units hits this car before then.

Overall this is a quite nice design - if GM is going to price Saturn the way it is this the first car that truely reflects the price it will command. Don;t get me wrong - the current Aura is nice but I don't think it has enough of an upscale look to be priced the way it is.
