Re: GM's Opel to bring out all-electric car at end of 2010

Here comes Delta II. It can't get here fast enough.

Hopefully Epsilon II and Gamma II are E-Flex capable as well.

They can call what they like but it is a plug-in! Maybe the people will get around and call it for what it is. As long they don't call it junk.

Re: GM's Opel to bring out all-electric car at end of 2010

This is pretty interesting. I wonder if GM in North America is thinking about bringing an electric car, like this Opel, here to the states in a "small car form". I guess the Volt will be a medium sized car, probably the size of the current Prius.

How do you figure? Its three years. And that's when the Volt (or whatever) is suppowed to be coming out as well.

I agree with the forgetfulness though...2009 is the debut date for Camaro, and I've almost completely forgotten about it already.

Re: GM's Opel to bring out all-electric car at end of 2010

They definitely have to bring this to market sooner, either that or the Volt and the Opel need to find ways to stay in the news for the next 3 years... and I don't mean by just announcing what is to come.

Well E-flex isn't really Electric/Gas. It's Electric with the option of using Gas for long trips.

In my opinion a hybrid uses two sources of power to turn the wheels.

E-flex uses one source of power. And it doesn't even need gas. Without the ICE E-flex would be an electric car and would still continue to work and function (It would just be range limited). I don't consider this a hybrid.

It would be like calling a dual fuel propane - gas vehicle a hybrid and it's not.

In the broad sense of the word all things you mentioned are Hybrids, you are correct in that people don't call those things all Hybrids.
