Opel Insignia Wins Car Of The Year By A Nose Badge Mark Appleton - Automotive News Europe - November 17, 2008 ![]() In what are troubled times for Opel and its General Motors parent company comes a rare but welcome bright spot: The Opel/Vauxhall Insignia has been voted European Car of the Year 2009. A jury of 59 journalists, representing 23 European countries, picks the car of the year. GM, we need the new Aura here now to fight against your tough rivals! If the Insignia won in Europe, my God thats a good signal for the States. I you bring these great cars here they will buy, it will pay off in the long run! Aura now Lutz!

Wow, great news for GM. This is a nice boost to the folks in Russelheim and Luton.
This makes me hopeful that we'll this car here as the "Buick Regal" since having it as a Saturn won't happen.
