Not defending the decade old model but it does have RWD.

Re: Meet Your 2010 Cadillac Lineup

I know caddies, the brand, the heritage -have tons of books on them and family has driven 6 fleetwood broughams with opera roofs until they got rid of them.
DTS is a real cadillac for us traditionals- the srx is really, seriously a joke- I mean come on!!. Its my least favorite since the STS revision in late 01 and the cimmaron.

Id stretch the dts five feet, 1.5 nose, 3.5 midsection- and keep selling it for 6 more years- double square the headlights like the 80s brougham, (thats the ugliest part of the car) give it a more upright -rolls grille. that would be a cheap way to get 60-100k sales per year from caddy fans -
2> Drop the sts and give us the 16
3> add the cts coupe and the electric coupe concept
4> forget about a bmw 1-sized competitor; we dont have the money for a 3series competitor, though that would be nice with an art and science theme, bring that guy back who did those concepts
Now exempt the dts from the fuel mileage calculations!

Unlike the DTS, if you walk into a dealership, you won't see a Town Car because they are special order only.

And yeah, if I'm getting a ride to the airport, I'd rather go in the Town Car.

My bet EPA 20/28 mpg.

So GM decided to have same standard PT option for CTS and LaCrosse? Caddy meets Buick again, where is mgescuro?

Sport wagon looks good.

Re: Meet Your 2010 Cadillac Lineup

Whats the point of the 3.0 liter V6 in the cTS?

More to the point..Whats the point of the twin turbo V6 in the SRX? (why not just put in the 3.6 direct injection motor and keep the parts the same as the cTS?)

I do like the suede steering wheel option in the CTS along with the new 19 inch polished wheels available..

I had always thought the 19's belonged on the CTS..

Not surprised to see the XLR gone..but I was surprised the STS is still in the lineup.

I would have thought that was a gonner

DTS and STS need to go, but what's the replacement?

Re: Meet Your 2010 Cadillac Lineup

First of all the STS is not a bad looking car. Secondly, the DTS is dated but still looks good inside and has great space. The powertrain is the real problem. The DTS' interior is up to modern Lexus/Cadillac standards.

Because it is better than the 2.8L which it replaces in Europe and makes more sense than a dated 3.6L non-DI if you want to offer an engine that is lighter and has better mileage than the 3.6L DI.

Because the double-scroll turbo 2.8L V6 is set up for FWD (and AWD) and it might be lighter. That's why. And it still makes about 300 hp (the opel insignia OPC makes 325hp with this type engine) with better mileage over the 3.6L which is (also road tax in Europe-)friendlier for the families who are aimed to drive it.

Re: Meet Your 2010 Cadillac Lineup

I saw a new SRX on the road the other day and I was very impressed. I also have seen a few CTS wagons around town recently and again I was very impressed. It's such a shame that GM is producing such amazing new products but is getting trashed for being incapable of doing anything right.

And I have to admit that I still love the DTS. I guess that I am an old softie.

Re: Meet Your 2010 Cadillac Lineup

AWESOME! No changes to STS & DTS. They know they're perfect just the way they are.

Can't believe the Escalade has a gear selector on the column. Now I just need to find a car with those floor mounted hi-beam switches. I loved them.
I heard they're going to splurge for 2011 & make the perfect DTS & STS more perfect by adding floor mounted hi-beam switches, along with dash mounted choke and spark advance on the steering wheel.

I'm 100% with you there, but we're unfortunately in a fantastically small minority. Most people somehow percieve a car as more sporty when they have to reach towards the console instead of the column to simply plunk it in "D." Ford resisted on their trucks/SUV's for the longest time, but I think feedback was consistently against column shift (unfortunately for us).

The DTS and the STS look a little out of place... Also, glad the SRX comes out well on that pic: some angles make it look awkward.

DTS needs to go. Just make a 4" stretched CTS for the mean time until a real large Caddy can be built.

The SRX is schamokin - Finally a Cadillac I could see owning once the Hybrid version is released (saw an article that the 2mode will fit if GM decides to produce it)
