Re: IL Insider: Details on the Cadillac CTS-V's Run Around the 'Ring

Towards the end he got alot of understeer and was really pushing it.

Could anybody tell how fast he was going on that last straight?
I don't know the markings on the CTS speedo, but I'm thinking he was going 160mph.

Did they run Summit Point pretty well, or really well?

I'm still wondering what all that wieght up front is doing to handling.

I think this is the first pic of a silver CTS-V I've seen. previously it has been the black cars and the grey.
Silver has got to be my favorite.

simply awesome. the best thing to ever wear a Cadillac badge. EVER. sad to see that the CTS outshines the way more expensive STS, something needs to be done there rather quickly.

On the cadillac drivers log they specifically state that "The item everyone refers to as a roll cage or roll bar is neither it is simply a harness bar mounted to the floor and b pillars in order to use a six point safety harness for added safety". So I can't figure out the roll cage comment.

Most people couldn't tell you the difference between a roll cage and a roll bar, so to expect them to know that a harness bar is neither is pushing it.

WOW, this means that GM tranny tech has really come forward. Does any one know if this tranny will be available on the rest of the RWD line?

Agreed. It looks truly killer in silver. "Killer Silver"...now that's what they should call it.

It would be nice if the CTS-V had some toys the M5 has, not that people will really care for those much.

Now show us the same blitz and time it with slicks...

That's awesome that the auto is faster on the track than the manual. Now, if I'm ever so lucky as to afford one, I won't feel like a girly-man for not rowing my own gears - I have a good excuse!

Damn who wants to give me $60k? This goes to show you a well made automatic can work as well and in this case better than a manual.

Re: IL Insider: Details on the Cadillac CTS-V's Run Around the 'Ring

I know I'd still get the manual. The auto might be a few seconds faster (on a 14 mile track) but then again awd might be faster, and getting schaufferred by a professional might be faster. Doesn't mean more fun by a long shot.
