Hail to “The Beast”: Hillary or Donald’s New Presidential Limo Caught Testing!

Like the current presidential limo, the new one is being supplied by General Motors and rides on a heavy-duty truck platform—not too surprising, given that it’s bulletproof, bombproof, and possessing other security features the Secret Service doesn’t want to talk about. Today’s limo, nicknamed The Beast, attempts to disguise its truck underpinnings with a design that borrows from the now discontinued Cadillac DTS sedan, but the Beast 2.0 ups the style quotient with a front-end treatment taken from the latest Escalade, even if it still shows a vestigial trunk.

I'm sure the Secret Service has many requirements that restrict it's design, but couldn't GM make it a little more bespoke looking and not such a hack job? After all, it IS the POTUS mobile!

That has to be Donald's new limo.

Here's Hillary's new State Car undergoing testing:

Obvious shop, there's no fuel cap by which to pour in the blood of children. Definitely not Hillary's.

It's all in the details.

Of course you are correct, anything can be done.
Having said that, to tool up 6 -9 sets of legal lamps is very costly & time consuming.
The object is to make the vehicle look as much like a Cadillac as possible, given all the constraints, and believe me, there are plenty of constraints on a vehicle like this.
So it's really that difficult to just have one pair of custom tail lamps produced for the Presidential limousine, which is arguably the most prestigious car anyone will ever build? A car that will bear your brand, your banner, and the brand and banner of the President and our country across the world?

Is it THAT costly?

Using the parts bin on a one-off car makes sense. If something breaks you have parts handy.
For the internals, sure. For cosmetics, build a stock. How many sets of tail lights does the Beast go through in 8 years? Make 5.

I have a crazy idea... build one of your vehicles with the Presidential limo in mind OR build the limo with a production vehicle in mind to minimize your need for unique parts.
