Re: GMI Reviews: 2006 Cadillac DTS

What does Lincoln sales figures look like? and as much of a GM fan I am Id pick the town Car over the Deville.[/quote]

I just happen to have my Automotive News handy. They publish monthly and year-to-date sales numbers:

Town Car
Jan. thru Sept.'05: 37,008 ('04= 38.974)

Deville/DTS
Jan. thru Sept. '05: 45,798 ('04=52,490)

The '05 figures are for combined "Deville" and "DTS" sales. Cadillac ceased production of Deville in late June of this year.

Niether company reports the percentage of sales that go to fleets.

Just for fun, here are the full-line totals:
January through September '05

Cadillac 182,800 ('04= 169,445)
Lincoln 93,700 ( '04= 104,229)

One set of figures I found interesting, and that Ford execs should find frightening, are Jaguar's:

Total sales through September this year: 24,284 ( '04= 35,570)

On yet another front, the Lincoln Mark LT outsold the Cadillac EXT for the month of September:
Mark LT: 863 EXT: 495
Ext is still ahead for the year, but only barely, with year-to-date sales of 6572, to the Mark LT's 5927. But you have to realize the Mark LT has been available only a few months. Impressive.

I wouldn't be too concerned. EXT is near EOL anyways.

Oh, I'm not worried. The market for these vehicles is so small anyway. That, and the LT is some ten-grand cheaper. Do you think Cadillac will lower the price of the next-gen EXT?

this car looks much better in person. I see it in Manhattan , and it looks sleeker and slightly smaller than the previous generation
