Re: GMI Reviews: 2006 Cadillac DTS
Excellent review, Ghrank. I really like this car, but I have a thing for big sedans. The only things that might keep me out of it are the FWD and the 4 speed. Normally a 4 speed wouldn't bother me, but in a $60k luxury sedan I think it might.

The DTS, even if based only on the previous Deville's sales record, will have a valuable place in the Cadillac lineup. Ghrank

Re: GMI Reviews: 2006 Cadillac DTS
That was a great article on the DTS, thanks Ghrankenstein. While at this point in my life, I can't afford a vehicle of this status, it still appeals to me. However, I would probably go more for the CTS or STS. The features this car offers is great and I'm a feature carving kind of person really.

Re: GMI Reviews: 2006 Cadillac DTS
I love the big American car and I'm still a young 40. Even though this car is much improved there is still one item that I can not forgive GM for....the steering wheel.
I have posted this issue on every new car review on this website. The 2006 steering wheel is the same for the Impala, Lucerne et al. It is do 80's. Look at the Lexus or a Kia. GM's inability to create or offer a 3 spoke wheel with integrated radio controls is inexcusable. At least offer it on the performance models (i.e. Impala SS, DTS Touring). They did change it on the 2006 G6...so maybe its coming in all product lines. |

Re: GMI Reviews: 2006 Cadillac DTS
Great review!
Someone bought one close to where I live, and it is an attractive car. The dimensions in the photos are misleading; emphasizing the grille and stretching the car out. The actual car up close is not overly long, and the grille does not dominate. In fact I had to do a double-take to confirm it was a DTS and not an STS. |

this seems to make sense, the CTS covers the low end for caddy, buick is good for the cheap luxury i guess...hopefully the Lucerne is as good as this caddy though....

Re: GMI Reviews: 2006 Cadillac DTS
While this is not a car that I would ever consider buying, I did see my first one on the road last night. It was a black one and was parked as I drove by. I must say, I was very impressed with the look of it!! Very Nice!!!!!!!

The volume controls are DCX-style, operated trigger-like from the backside. The front, the confusing part is the big +/- buttons, which shuffle among the presets, while a smaller trigger offers a plus-only channel seek. With the huge number of multiband pre-sets available, you can see how this will make radio operation old hat to the seasoned and well-programmed listener.

Re: GMI Reviews: 2006 Cadillac DTS
I dont see the point in re-freshing the deville instead of redoing it. I mean it went from selling about 140,000 units a year to selling 60,000 units a year, its typical market is just going away probably to something foriegn.
