The coupe production car will be shown at Pebble Beach the weekend of the Pebble Beach Concours 8/17/08 . I've Googled CTS Coupe/Pebble Beach and find nothing suggesting that the Coupe will debut at Pebble Beach on August 17. I did find Edmunds stating that the coupe will debut at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS) in January 2009. Could it be that you and I are reading the same internet articles and you're projecting your information based on those articles ????? If you have some concrete facts I'd appreciated you making them available. Thanks.

Sorry . The coupe will be shown privately to press and selected attendees at Pebble . The "public" debut will be later this year . I should have been more clear .

If you're correct then that would mean we'll see it in photos by the end of this weekend. From what I've read, the CTS Coupe Concept originally shown at the 2008 NAIAS will be part of the GM Motorama which will showcase the old concepts and experimentals from the 50's and 60's. In addition to the coupe they will be showing the Buick Invicta from China. Are you saying that the CTS Coupe debut will be different from this? I hope you're right.

The CTS concept will be with the rest of the GM display to the general public . The production however will NOT be shown to everyone , and the photos embargoed for some period .

Bummer, why would they bother to do that. It seems rather counterproductive. Let's hope something "leaks" out of this "private" showing,.... if it really happens.

CTS Spy Photos, Less Camo, More B-Pillar

Though the earlier Edmunds shot showed no B-pillar, when the tape is off the 2010 CTS Coupe there's clearly some form of cheater glass/plastic material.

The 'B' pillar is behind the rear quarter glass which is tinted dark .

I like that they left the rear design the way it was. As Bob Lutz said, a pretty car has ro challenge you a little bit. It has to stretch the bounds of pretty so that it does not get outdated quickly.

Pebble Beach has come and gone. I saw the CTS Sport Wagon and the new SRX CUV, but I didn't see anything about the production CTS Coupe, those pictures must have been "embargoed". I guess I'll have to wait for Detroit.

OK, OK, I'm here to apologize for doubting Yello430. The Production CTS Coupe was actually displayed to a select few at Pebble Beach and photos WERE forbidden.

Now, on to the meat of the subject: after months of conjecture and opinions it appears that the Coupe will be virtually identical to the Concept. After seeing all of the spy photos and reading dozens of emails regarding the bulbous ass end I can't see how Cadillac left it exactly as it was. The opinions were mostly against the fastback/hatchback design and the photos indicate that the rear quarters were elongated. In any event, after delaying my purchase of the sedan for a whole year, my enthusiasm has been deminished by this news. I may be leaning back to the sedan, even though I truly dislike 4 doors. We'll see what it looks like in Nov. at the L.A. Show.

Please wait until you see the car in person . The showcar has already garnered many design awards and the production car is identical for all intents and purposes . Yes the rear is dramatic , but other Cadillac designs of the past have been equally dramatic . Wait until you can see it amongst other cars in traffic , that will be the true test . It is a bold Cadillac design statement , as it should be . And no need for an apology . You couldn't have known Cadillac's plans .
