Re: Edmunds: Spied - CTS Coupe

Its the same door handle as the Corvette and XLR and those work flawlessly. I see no problem with these at all.

I disagree with you on the door handles. I have no problem with them. Also, It's pretty cool how the door actually opens on it's own slightly when you touch the exterior pad or interior button.

Re: Edmunds: Spied - CTS Coupe

Make it efficient - maybe turbo the 2.8?

Get it on the market SOON.

GM needs the income. Bankruptcy is starting to look like a real possibility, and only a car generating some genuine cash is going to save the General.

mikmak,

I really like the touch membrane solenoid operated doors on the new CTS Coupe. It is a beautiful design feature and to date is very exclusive and functional. A design by the way that enhances the exterior styling by removing traditional door handles not to mention the weight savings. I like the design on XLR body style and the CTS Coupe, simply beautiful.

I'm a coupe guy and may become a Cadillac man yet. I'll take mine stealth black with leather interior, NAV system, and a 19 year-old brunette in the passenger seat please.

I actually like the rear end, but I hate the "safety" handles. Not only are they a hazard when it comes to rescuing accident victims, they are also unpractical.

Hi Bravada,

What are safety handles? And what victims are you speaking of?

Re: Edmunds: Spied - CTS Coupe

I was ridiculing this design of door handles - they are the antithesis of safety, imagine trying to open a door of a crushed car with one like that after an accident. Victims - well, accidents do happen, even in Cadillacs.
