>>"Edmunds: Instead, think of the 2010 Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon as a continuation of a car put on hiatus some 55 years ago. One of Harley Earl's dream cars, it was outlandish, gorgeous and by all measures impractical to all but a very specific audience; it was the 1954 Corvette "Waldorf" Nomad. In the way it combined a gentleman's sports car with a luxury car and even to its funny C-pillar that was wider at the top than at the base, the Nomad was the natural precursor to the CTS Sport Wagon."<<

> Never reviewed by the press then and missing ever since, I wonder how it's 'impracticality' was judged?
> Nothing 'luxury' whatsoever about a Corvette then, or the Nomad concept.
> "funny C-pillar that was wider at the top than at the base" - now I have no idea what car they were thinking of/ looking at, because the Nomad has thin chrome parallel C-pillars, AND parallel B-pillars.

Sloppy sh !t like this throws the whole piece into question for me, regardless of my personal opinion on the vehicle.

I too have to bite my lip when I read what many of the modern automotive "journalists" write about the cars and concepts of yesteryear... It's so easy to "fact check" today with the internet... Why are so many of the pieces that I've read recently so off in their factual content?

Nice; bigger than the SRX, I take it, or is this the new Escalade, or is Caddy going to do small medium large?

I drove in South Jersey as well. Lots of people were interested. One of the workers said he was surprised at the level of interest in a lowly wagon.

Re: Edmunds Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon Review

The CTS-4 Sport Wagon should be featured in an ad showing its rear styling and having skis mounted on top of it, in the porte-cochere of a fabulous ski resort, with people in the latest ski fashions--with perhaps an Escalade in the distant background, and a CTS-4 Sedan visible, too--somewhat similar to ads of the Seventies featuring the Eldorado in snowy settings, several of which feature ski themes. There is a magazine ad for the 1970 Eldorado in Royal Blue that shows a couple in ski clothing, and the car features the then-new sunroof option, and it comes to my mind--describing its front-wheel-drive traction, and its luxury, etc. An ad like this would be great for the upcoming holidays--and they could showcase the CTS-4 Sport Wagon as the showpiece of people with an active, sporty lifestyle at a luxury ski resort! Come on, marketing, flood the public with conjured-up images to reflect the great Cadillac styling as the "best!"

Agreed, not everyone should be able to afford a Cadillac, but they should aspire to!

Uh, why do we need the VRX when we have the SRX and CTS wagon? Also I thought CAMI couldn't keep up with production for the Equinox and Terrain and now they wanna add a third vehicle?

Re: Edmunds Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon Review

Caddy Sport wagon has the same problem the dodge magnum had.
You have to take long items off the roof beofre opening the rear hatch, because it is hinged in the roof not below it.

I have not totally written off the sport wagon but wish that caddy had given the cts more interior volume. How can a car with a 113.9" wheelbase have so little rear legroom?
