CNET "Tech Car of the Year"

Here's another award for the CTS. Sorry if repost.

GM has a winner. It almost seems like the awards are getting redundant!

So this is what it is like being a BMW fanboy...

IMO, that is a glaring omission in an otherwise excellent vehicle.

Wow... a California based website naming a CADILLAC their car of the year. Over Lexus's all new flagship no less.

Re: CNET "Tech Car of the Year"

hmm.. Isn't this the same poll that we were voting on a few weeks ago? and wasn't the Acura ahead by like 150 votes? I'm pleased to see that the CTS came out on top, I dont know who was voting for the acura, it seemed like every vote the CTS got the Acura got another one and there was always a gap. Maybe after the voting was done the staff picked the final winner?

Re: CNET "Tech Car of the Year"

GMI forum did a little organized campaigning for the CTS on the award's associated CNet web poll. According to the artical, the high poll finish for the CTS helped make it the top car!

Considering the high cost of OnStar integration and it's sophistication/feature count, it's sad that CNet didn't even mention it in the award announcement. GM's got to figure out a way to get more recognition for OnStar with the Tech press.

Will be standard in 2009.

That being said, self parking and pushbutton start combined with keyless ignition is stupid.

That's going to be fixed sooner rather than later. The CTS-V has it and all cadillacs will have it in the 2009 model year. Actually bet the feature hits before the 2009 model year builds begin as a dealer installable option.

Not to mention an integrated Bluetooth can be purchased for the CTS from GM NOW. Any smart dealerships out there are adding the Bluetooth option on all the CTS's they get in stock.

Really? Integrates with OnStar microphone and has phone book and such in an upgraded infotainment software reload and everything?? Have the part numbers on the kit?

BTW, why is this not a front page post being a new CTS award and such?

Woo Hoo! I knew we could win this one. That pop up Nav and 40gig hard drive are sweet tech bits.

I'm still extremely curious about this tid bit of info NSAP. I thought a GM integrated solutions was still missing, other than on the CTS-V and Coupe maybe. I knew 2009 models got it, but didn't know there was a kit available already.

I don't have any information on it, other than it's a dealer-installed option that is going to be factory-installed in 2009.

I had heard the same thing earlier on also, but from what I have found asking around, no dealers know what how to get the kit yet. Like it was promised, but not yet available. I am sure it will be available to install on existing 08's once it starts shipping in the '09's. Just seems no one has figure out what the part or kit is for it as of yet.
