Cars.com Reviews 2008 Cadillac CTS

Hey guys,
We just posted the FULL review over on Cars.com. Kelsey Mays (they guy who wrote the STS review) takes on the CTS and comes away pretty impressed. We were just talking about it since I finally drove one myself and both of us see it being a tough call between the G35 and CTS on the luxury value chart.

Quote:
After two days of hard driving across California, I think the CTS has a good shot at converting some of those shoppers. The cabin is marvelous, the driving dynamics are first-rate and the amenities are useful for real drivers, not just technophiles. The sedan is not without faults, but overall it's a solid choice — competitive where it counts and distinct in a lot of good ways.

another quality review, i hope this doesn't suffer the AURA syndrome. I hope the praise it deserves converts into sales. and on top of that, how about getting some imports to trade in their cars for this Cadillac.

They are better in person, really. I still opted for 18ins to get the HIDs and tighter suspension.

Caddy has better name recognition than Saturn. I think the new CTS will do well. The CST-V is sitting on my wish list right now - depends on how they price it.

Boy the black one is gorgeous.

That's also one of the fairest reviews I've read in a while. It's still filled with opinions, but the reasons behind them are pretty well explained.

There is no Aura syndome. The Aura bombed because of the "Saturn" name tag.

I don't know if GM gave the 08 CTS enough of an exterior refresh for people to notice and pay attention, but otherwise, the product is class leading and Cadillac the brand is on its way back up. So it should sell well.

I often think this is on purpose. The worse the base wheel is, the more likely it is that a customer will pop for the extra cost ones.

Sometimes they take it a little too far though. I would much rather have an Acadia than a base Enclave just because those wheels look so terrible.

I agree, I expect you'll see few dealers opting for those wheels in favor of the nicer 18s and (hopefully) 19s to come.

Those 17s seem to be the CTS's last final play to the fogie demographic that the DTS isn't already grabbing.

I saw my first 08 in Toronto yesterday, it was sweet. Maybe I can swing it next year, I will try. Dream car for me, now my wallpaper.
