No surprise C&D picked the BMW. So far the the one consistent thing in the reviews is the notchy manual,I wonder if GM will respond.
@ first it sounds like the ATS has it in the bag then they nit pick it to death (to save the 3?)
I prefer they do not choose a winner based on personal preference items like the interior design as long as it is up to snuff which I say both are
the issue with CUE I had never even thought of B4 and wonder how close the cable has to be as I mount my phone on my windscreen and plug it in to charge having the cable "drape" down the centre stack
Disappointing....
Saw my first ATS today, its a winner on looks alone. It looks nothing like the previous Fusion or Gen 1 CTS. Tailpipe out the back gave it away, otherwise, from the distance I thought it was a CTS.
Will Car & Driver ever get off of BMW's teet?
Talk about bias!
I can't wait for someone with some balls to call the ATS the victor!
Good job GM; even if they won't admit it.

Alright, so this dude is just an idiot. I honestly didn't think we would get reviews like this. Boy was i wrong.

This is just the first generation of the ATS. I really didn't expect the car to come in and just make a clean sweep of wins over the BMW... they have been #1 in this segment for over 30 years now. The ATS is a beautiful car and the interior is excellent, though I also like the BMW's interior. It sounds like Cadillac has matched the E46 as far as the handling goes, but I do feel that CUE needs a little bit of work before it's implemented in all of the newest cars. It's far too slow and annoying for me to use daily from the few minutes I used it on both the XTS and ATS. Overall I'm not to shocked in the conclusion as C&D has been handing it's 10 Best Award to the 3 Series every year since 1992.
I just don't understand how the Cadillac engineers didn't anticipate that the power cord dangling from the radar detector would make random selections on CUE. Good thing that C&D pointed that out.![]()

Soon - After viewing the 360s of the ATS interiors on the Caddy site, I won't be happy with any other car.

I don't understand how the cord thing could happen. When I used CUE, all functions needed a somewhat firm prod to get back the haptic feedback.

bmw&driver strikes again.
strange things are afoot at the circle k.
So the ATS wins in the "fun to drive" category, but loses in everything else. Just the opposite of what they have been doing to the competition for the last 20 years. Usually, the BMW loses most objective measures but magically comes from behind with maxed out points in the subjective "fun to drive" category to take the win.
