1. Allow foreign company's to readily advertise and sell perscription medicine here. (This is already really being done but not so much that they can advertise)

2. Remove the requirement for a perscription for the following (and maybe more) drugs,
Antibiotics
blood pressure medicine
birth control pills
Anti reflex pills

Next we are going to have some government funded medical schools/programs. Technically they can be at any school. The government pays 100% of the cost of your education and you agree to work as a government doctor for so many years at a fixed rate. Without all the debt that most doctors incur getting their degree, many might opt for this program.

No free medical to anyone without a social security number. Sorry amigo, go outside or back where you came from and die.

I get all my meds from Canada and England.

Eliminate the need for malpractice insurance. Make it illegal to sue a doctor, hospital, or medical whatever.

Hey, you want cheap medical, stop suing the docs. You can still have a 'NON DOCTOR ADMINISTERED" complaint board to take the license away from incompetents and criminal proceedings if necessary to throw'em in jail, but no liability suits, not against drug companies either but you can still sue'em for criminal malfeasance. Hang a few doctors every year. Put the CEO and all the Board of Directors of a few pharmaceutical company's in jail and all that hanky panky for profit will stop.

May so many doctor graduates that there is a glut on the market.

MAKE THE UAW against the law and the dam teamsters. Make closed shops AGAINST THE LAW!

Re: Cadillac Stalls After Changing Advertising Agency

Well I saw several commercials for the CTS on the NFL today (10/7/08). We see some clown that looks like he hasn't shaved in a week and probably hasn't bathed either asking if you car turns you on. The best feather of the new CTS is it's looks which are complete obscured by line drawings.

WHAT A LOSER COMMERCIAL!!!! Who picked these clowns anyway. I don't think they could sell pu$$y on a troop train.

Cool Re: Cadillac Stalls After Changing Advertising Agency

Well I have seen more of the CTS commercials, namely the one featuring the beautiful young woman in a Red CTS, on you guessed it; a cellphone. She's talking about driving around and stops for a light next to some apparently single guys, in a Black CTS.

The commercial is kitshy, but beside showing some good looking shiny paint, that commercial says nothing about the cars. Are the 30 somethings targeted, perceptive enough to get the message? Though I am slightly more mature, I didn't! If I am on track, it's back to the think tanks, Modernista.

Greetings PAULSTS1,

The most impressive message I get from the new Cadillac 2008 CTS commercials is that Cadillac is clearly setting its unique standard of style, luxury performance and design on the world stage. Time will tell, regarding the success of these advertisements, but I find them refreshing and somewhat playful and fun.

Well... let's see... the young woman is Kate Walsh -- Dr. Addison Montgomery on "Grey's Anatomy" and "Private Practice." She's driving in a red CTS... and pulls up next to a bunch of well dress young men in a 5-series.

I think the sophisticated, wealthy, urbanite, early 30-somethings, are perceptive enough to pick up on it. I did.

Mgescuro:

You've found me out...I don't really watch a lot of regular broadcast TV. The shows you mentioned I have never seen. Also it appears I don't watch commercials very carefully, I didn't even notice that the guys were in a BMW, I thought it was also a CTS. All I really noticed was the woman, and all that Red paint.

As long as there are people watching that do get the point, the Ad is working, and that's what's important.

I love TV. It's my downtime away from life when I can't get away.
Grey's Anatomy is a Top 2 rated show... duking it out with CSI. And #1 for the critical demographic ratings. Private Practice is it's spin off, and one of the best rated shows of the new season.

Using Kate Walsh in the CTS commercials is a windfall for Cadillac!!! Believe me.

Re: Cadillac Stalls After Changing Advertising Agency

GMs comercials don't really advertise the strong points of the car.

Sure, the woman is attratctive, the paint is shiny and the car looks amazing.

But we don't hear "sport tuned suspension" "304hp" "safety features" "the incredible interior" "BLue tooth" We don't even hear "on star"

We just get a "this person drive this car..."

Actually... you DO hear all the goodies that come with the CTS.
Kate WAlsh says something like, "it's not about the 40 gb hard drive, sunroofs, sapele wood accents, popup nav screen" or any of that...

It's very subtle.

It's not like the Lexus... here is how the LS parks itself commercials. Or Buick's We have heated windshiled washer fluid commercials.

Cadillac is focusing on the "thrill" and "exhilaration" of driving the CTS. ANd if you want gadget... we got that too.

I meant GM comercials in general, have you seen that 10 second Malibu clip, barely shows the car. Doesn't give us any info either.

That's just the first round of what is going to be a HUGE marketing campaign for that car. Think they are brief, mostly because they don't want TOO many people showing up at dealers looking for the car, only to be told to come back in a few weeks. I agree there was a stint where their marketing was weak, but I think now it is going pretty well again. I think the marketing is going to get better also as they get more of the entire line upgraded to the newest platforms and such. They just don't have the cash to spend on good marketing campaigns just yet, but once all the modern platforms are out and most all models are on them and just being matured on those platforms like Toyota and Honda do, I think they will free up a lot of resources to focus on selling the good products they finally have. Just a really slow process when just in 2002, you had all products derived from mid 80's platforms that hadn't been matured and redesigned as well as the competition, and many that hadn't changed much at all since the mid 80's.

Hi Megescuro:

I did hear the CTS commercial on the Radio last night, and I did hear about the car. Radio has been my major media since I worked at nights (putting myself through School) in the early 1970's. I believe the commercial was the same woman you mentioned, simply breathtaking...

My personal car search has led me to the Audi S5, soon to be released, I have contacted my Local Porsche/Audi dealership and will also look at the Cayman when I am informed they have the car available. I read about it in a magazine (my #2 Information source, just ahead of the Internet). I'll try to enlighten all when my research has concluded.

Weekend Best,

Weekend Best,

Greetings PAULSTS1,

Keep us posted of your on findings with Audi and Porsche. I did evaluate Porsche's 911 Cabriolet and Chevrolets's Corvette Convertible very early in my reviews and for my requirements I found both sports cars more track ready than street ready for driving to the office in traffic everyday. Cadillac's XLR and Mercedes-Benz's SL550 are a much better fit. However, that is the very reason requirements for individual differ as it should be.

Good shopping PAULSTS1.
