Re: Cadillac SRX as good as Q5?

Yes, proof that if you make a great product, people will buy it.

Outstanding.

And on the last, and both parts I think, we are going to find out - shortly.

When our resident 1/3 misinformed 1/3 none informed Cadillac non specialist starts posting up loud and in quanity you know its always about one of two things - usually in a pre preemptive sense -

1.) Bad news for Lexus somewhere somehow.

2.) Good news for Cadillac

Here we have the two common purposes run together.

Actually a good sign when you think about it - just look at the negative buzz we had from certain sources here about the CTS, the Enclave, or even the Malibu and Traverse - its really our GMI seal of approval.

Oh, and uh, Lexus Dealers still want an Escalade competitor.

Volt ………………….. 37
Prius ………………… 228
30 MPG car ………… 380
20 MPG car ………… 570

I rationalize it as the Landcruiser's "Denali" trim (compared to the Yukon)
I think the Lexus LX570 is good enough to be a considered an Escalade competitor. It's big - though not quite AS big. It doesn't look nearly as nice but it's an extremely luxurious large SUV. The price is ridiculous but it is what it is...

I'm glad you agree. IMHO, Cadillac must target Lexus (and more importantly, Lexus-style volume) if it is to support the kind of dealer network re-imagining GM is asking for.

Despite mgescuro's pleadings, GM cannot succeed with Cadillac positioned as some kind of well-regarded but ultimately obscure brand.

If it didn't sell as a Pontiac, why would it do any better as a more expensive Buick?
