Just remember 6-series starts at $78,000. Even if CTS Coupe didn't have a V8 at launch, I think $45,000 is a very good base price for this... and it can ratchet up to $60,000... more for a CTS4 Coupe.

i could see a 45K price tag. question im wondering is if they'd release somthing like this with an base V6?

Re: Cadillac Shows CTS Coupe Concept!

This coupe looks amazing!!!. They have taken the extraordinary CTS Sedan and made it look even better. I'm really a coupe person. 2 doors always look sexier and sportier than 4. Good Job Cadillac!!!

On a similar subject I'd like to see Chevrolet do a coupe Version of Malibu.

Re: Cadillac Shows CTS Coupe Concept!

Absolutely fantastic front. The headlamps though are sitting a little too low. Looks weird with the lights are on.
The rear is ok. Too clean compared to the front. Can't we just get a couple of inches of a bumper sticking out?
Not crazy about the fenders looking pulled out to the wheel well. I think MonaroSS's version is better. And the flat surface is surrounding the tires is a little too broad. We don't want to get into silly Nissanity territory with the 5 inches of flatness.

Definetly a looker though. I love Cadillac continuing to look like nothing else on the road.

Oh and could I ask for an AWD version too? I haven't read anything about that yet....
That's too low and crowds the G8 and ultimately sets the bar for the BLS to go lower (if that product comes soon).

I think 33-34K starting, with 35-36K for the DI 3.6 pretty fair. This needs to be pitched as an upgrade from the sedan. From the styling, I'd say it looks the part.

This is a solid G37 fighter, but also could royally smack the 6 series and S5 in a "V" trim.

If this comes in with the 3.6L DI only... then you can probably expec ta $50K+ base.

Re: Cadillac Shows CTS Coupe Concept!

I'm guessing more like a little below $40k for this car - 3.6 DI with nothing on it... about $4000 more than the sedan.

My guess is they will price the coupe at $39,995 to start, and offer the 304-horse DI 3.6 as the "base" engine. Any word on a convertible?

Re: Cadillac Shows CTS Coupe Concept!

I can't believe how many people really think that $45k+ is a good idea.....

It's a coupe people.... a GM one at that too.

It's not a BMW.

But after looking at other's pricing structure, I'll re-calibrate my base number to $35k.

This is Cadillac's 6-Series fighter.

#2- Try January 2006 for the Camaro.... The Convertible was last year.
Looking at the 3-series and G35/G37 for comparison, both have coupe models that carry a 2-3K price hike over the same sedan trim level.

If this Caddy follows a similar pricing structure, based on the current CTS pricing, we can expect a base of around 35K and a fully loaded example around 50K, and maybe a V series at around 65-70K.

Re-calibrate again. 6-series starts at $78,000 with a V8. A 6-series w/o one would most likely be in the low $60K.

A $40-45,000 base price for the CTS Coupe is logical; however, if there is a V8 in the CTS Coupe, I wouldn't be surprised of a mid-$60K tag.

And, if you want to factor in the A5/S5 into the equation, you have A5 at $40,000 base and S5 at $50,500. the 3.6L DI is more powerful than the A5 engine, but not enough for the S5 V8. So, a $40-45,000 base price remains logical, though I'd lean closer to $50,000.

Yes... it is a coupe. And coupes cost more than their sedan counterparts.

Therein lies the problem, Bixler. The coupe is almost always more expensive than the sedan. While you may not find it suitable, that's just the way it is.
