Cadillac has announced a new edition for their popular Escalade full-size SUV for the 2012 model year. The new Premium Collection will sit between the Luxury Collection and Platinum Edition models. The Premium Collection brings a few changes to the Escalade's exterior design.

Starting up front, the Premium Collection loses some of its bright bodywork for body colored surrounding and horizontal elements along with size moldings and door handles. The LED headlamps from the Platinum Edition will also be an option on the Premium Collection. The rear will sport a revised a redesigned rear fascia with integrated rectangular dual exhaust tips. Further changes to the rear included clear-tinted LED taillights and a revised Cadillac emblem. Among the changes include new 22" wheels.

Interior updates will be shared with the rest of the Escalade lineup which includes a new center console lid, a new rear camera, Point of Interest Navigation, and advanced XM/Sirius with weather and Tune select.

Production of the new Premium Collection will begin this fall bringing prospective buyers another way to help express their personalities.

It seems to looks good up front. The wheels, well, they aren't doing anything positive for me. I'll have to see more pics. And... I wish they would replace the side mirrors.

Smart move. Not everyone likes the "bling" look.

I like it, I'd like to see the rear, but I like the front end as I've only seen two platinum editions on the road since they Introduced it so I hope to see more of these before the redesign.

Looks great to me. The revisions to the rear sound particularly interesting. I actually enjoy those wheels. They looks pretty good compared to most Cadillac wheel designs, particularly on the base CTS.

I hate the 'bling' look.. I hate the 'ricer' look... I hate the 'pep boys tacky' look. I wish manufacturer's (and particularly GM since I care about Chevrolet & Cadillac) would stay away from all of that crap. Rise Above It. Start making things look clean and classy again.. Prestige, pride & sophistication should be the goal. Not chasing trends many of which have already passed..

That said, I like this. I have 2 problems though.

    1) All Cadillac's should be Premium. I don't even like the fact that 'premium' is called an option or 'collection'...

    2) The headlights I'm just not feeling.. I counted 8 different sections here. Is there some sort of light bulb record we're going for here or?? It looks cluttered and tacky IMO. Dare I say the headlights alone look 'Bling' enough to turn me away.. How many gold chains can we fit around our neck...

Did the Jr.High kids that did the Silverado get put in charge of design again?

Please not do do that to the ATS. I planned on buying one.

Looks good to me - brings some maturity and respect to the overly blinged Escalade.

Ahhhh...right. Why not just make the Escalade...better? Why bother with the 400 models that split hairs?
There needs to be two option packages: Art and Science. Art: more luxury, leather/suede, microfiber and Science: more tech, adaptive headlights with cruise, MRC, etc etc.

I agree with the headlights - trend started with the tacky German headlights where they are using all of those LED's that look like an early 1980's computer game.

Can they make the exhaust sound like Darth Vader?

I like your way of thinking! Let's just upgrade the current base model's interior a few levels to better compete with the competition.

It looks really good. CTS-like, I wish they just made the headlights like the CTS.

They went with the "murdered-out" look. LoL.
You can tell that GM really cared about the Volt from day one. I now understand why it won so many awards. If GM cared about all its vehicles that way they would truely be #1.

Past ride: 1996 Reg. Cab S10: LS1 swap, headers, painless wiring, T56 manual, with a built 10 bolt, disc brakes, locker, lowered 3 inches--SOLD TO HELP BUY HOUSE

    Current ride: 02 GMC HighRider Zr2: Line-X'd rockers, lifted,33's, winch,manual NP233, & alot more. SOON TO BE SAS w/ D44's on 35's with a 5.3

Re: Cadillac Revamps 2012 Escalade Premium Collection

I have been saying for years that Cadillac needs to offer an Escalade with blacked out trim. I have had some contact with Cadillac, from customer service calling me and to some things I posted to them directly, and it seems that over the last 6-7 years they have made running changes to a lot of those items.
If they put a 20 gallon gas tank in the CTS-V then I know they are listening to their customers.
