I was at my dealership today picking up my plates and I asked him the same question. He said they can't give the STSs away.

He said all the CTSs that come in over 46K (loaded) sell in less than 5 days. The stripped down versions are a hard sell and don't move very fast. Keep in mind that I'm in Houston and we have a great economy right now.

I really wish mine had the wood and the electric steering column. I'm suppose to be getting the wood but the dealer install kit hasn't been released yet.

It would be the 5-series, because that's what the 1st gen CTS was priced against in Europe. In fact I looked up the Euro pricing for those two in 2003 or 2004. With some typical options added (leather, nav, HID's) a 530i was actually a bit cheaper than the CTS. Meanwhile it had the CTS beat in literally every single (measurable) aspect...acceleration, braking, handling, trunk space, mileage, noise levels...right down to the turning radius.

It's not rocket science, really. People will only buy Caddies if you give them a reason to. Now, Caddy as the new kid on the block is at a natural disadvantage compared to BMW for example because the dealer network is extremely sparse (5 dealers for 60 mil people), the resale value is bad, LHD and there's no brand cachet. So either you make the product significantly better than your competitor's, give the customer something he CAN'T get at BMW or a significant price break to make him forget about the disadvantages.

Unless your target audience are idiots, you don't establish a brand by selling slightly worse products at slightly higher prices. What kind of business plan is that?

I do feel that the 2nd gen CTS can more than justify itself in places like the UK, so its more a matter of time to see things develop.

Depends on the pricing. If it's priced head to head with the 5-series again, it won't be a success story.

Re: Cadillac CTS-V gets 4WD, but no RHD version?

CTS needs to meet all of its competitors in all features/options and exceed them in a couple.

Does the V need at least 550hp? Yes.
RS6 will have 575+
New M5 will recieve a twin turbo.
Mercedes might throw a super charger on thier E63 AMG
The IS-F will be followed up by more F models. GS-F?
