Re: Cadillac Announces Escalade Hybrid **PICS ADDED**

At least the wheels look nice, unlike the Tahoe and Yukon hybrids.

Maybe they should stretch PLATINUM on the side of that model!!!

Yeah but they actually looked, you know, good

Is the full length "hybrid" sticker there to keep the enviromentalist from throwing eggs at it?

Cool Re: Cadillac Announces Escalade Hybrid **PICS ADDED**

I test drove a Cadillac Escalade at a Motor Trend Magazine/Cadillac Challenge a few years back, and I liked the Escalade. I never go camping, and I don't haul around enough people to justify the purchase of such a massive vehicle. However at 50% better mileage who knows. And if the technology is sound and replacement battery technology makes it cost effective, then maybe I can "let have?"

I especially liked the "Platinum Edition" in another thread, now when they create the "HILTON EDITION" maybe then.....?

Re: Cadillac Announces Escalade Hybrid **PICS ADDED**

anyone who spends the money to buy a hybrid and trades in a perfectly good car is just doing it to show the world "THEY CARE". they will never save enough money on fuel to make up the difference they paid to trade up. what we need to do in this country is take the cars off of the teenagers who are just styling around to impress their friends. the people up the street have 5 cars in their drive and 3 of them belong to their teenage kids.

I take back my original remark criticizing the large font H Y B R I D on the the side.
Did we all not wish for GM to differentiate these vehicles from others? They are not about to bend sheet metal different for every hybrid version, as there is already plenty of additional cost, so this allows people to get the word out, which is all those people want anyway.

Kudos to GM.

Too cool... Anybody ever think about retrofitting a hybrid drivetrain into something like this???

There's a way to do it, and then there's a Cadillac way. GMC did an excellent job differentiating the hybrid from the rest of the pack.....why can't Caddy?

Re: Cadillac Announces Escalade Hybrid **PICS ADDED**

I agree with those that say the big 'Hybrid' sticker is overkill. I'm glad this vehicle exists... but I really hope they offer it on the EXT and ESV models as well soon. It's a great system... it needs as much exposure as possible!

Re: Cadillac Announces Escalade Hybrid **PICS ADDED**

I like the fender Hybrid Vents. Very creative and still stylish without adding even more chrome to the rig. I agree this thing will outsell the Platnium edition hands down. I am sure the obnoxious Hybrid stickers on the doors will not make it to the lots. It's a Cadillac not an 80's Pontiac. Cadillac dealers know better than to have anything close to that on a production model.

Also GM has already annouced they will be releasing a new hybrid model every three months for at least the next two years. And most of which will be two modes. By 2009-2010 they will be releasing the Volt and plug in cars. GM is hauling @$$ in their turn around and right now they are picking up speed.

To me it looks like GM has learned how to pick up the pace in the marathon. Go GM I am a fan for life!

With the exception of maybe California, the platinum edition will outsell a hybrid. Around here, having a hybrid would be the exact opposite of a status symbol.

Re: Cadillac Announces Escalade Hybrid **PICS ADDED**

The HYBRID lettering on the side is garish, all right, but it's an Escalade. It's supposed to be garish. If you want a toned-down, non-garish SUV, go for the Tahoe 2Mode or the GMC Yukon.
