    Let's see ...

    XTS V Sport, 0-60: 5.2 sec
    CTS V Sport, 0-60: ~4.8 sec
    ATS V Sport, 0-60: ~4.4 sec
    ATS-V, 0-60: ~4.0 sec

    I like it!
2005 CTS-V, LS6, Supercharged, Headers, and lots more. (garage queen)
2011 Cruze ECO, 1.4T, 6-spd manual. (my DD)
    2012 SRX, 3.6, AWD. (wife's car).

Too bad the V-sport doesn't look substantially different from the standard model.

    From the review:
"In the run to 60 mph, the turbochargers are good for two whole seconds compared with the performance of the naturally aspirated, all-wheel-drive XTS, with the Vsport stopping the clock at 5.2 seconds. The quarter-mile is cleared in 13.6 seconds, 2.1 seconds sooner, at which point the XTS’s digital speedo reads 105 mph."

That is quick for a car of this size!

"Unfortunately, the XTS’s chassis hasn’t been rehabilitated for its new job. As in lesser XTS models, the Vsport experience is tainted by a shaky-feeling structure, limp steering, and a suspension that’s on the soft side. Braking and skidpad numbers were no better than what we’ve recorded for naturally aspirated XTS models, and despite GM’s HiPer strut front suspension and all-wheel drive, torque steer still manages to boss around the driver’s palms."

Thumbs down on this. GM should have done something to the suspension for Vsport designation. Does this mean that the Vsport CTS will have the base suspension? This may tarnish the Vsport model's image IMO.

"The Vsport is a far better car than the DTS that used to occupy the XTS’s slot in Caddy’s lineup, but it’s hardly sporty."

Sad to hear this. I was hoping for more. However, this is only one magazine's opinion. Curious to hear about other "first drives" of this model. BTW, I like the grille a lot. The silver "blades" on the black egg crate is a nice touch.

CTS Vsport will have its own suspension tuning with a tighter steering ratio and an LSD. As well, summer tires in a staggered fitment.

In the XTS case, they shoved the engine in an AWD car.

the last time a Detroit company built a car without a stiff structure is probably the 60's. This so called magazine cannot be serious.

    Except they're right.

I had an XTS loaner for about a week, and I agree with the shaky structure. It just doesn't feel as solid as an E Class does. That can be attributed to the very chassis it's built on.

I'm sure the CTS will be fine though.

That'd be quite limiting to the brand. That said, I'd be all for a Cadillac-exclusive version of the new small block.

I don't think it really had to, though. I mean a 550i isn't markedly different from 4-cylinder or 6-cylinder 5-Series trims, ditto V-8 versions of pretty much anything else in this price range. If this was an XTS-V or something, then I'd completely agree.

I totally agree. It embodies what the older Lexus LS stood for. For me this could be a good alternative to the ULS which I won't be able to afford.

Can we get some detailed feedback this time? I don't think I ever saw a followup GMI thread on the 2014 GMC Sierra

Since the Impala is on the same chassis, does it also suffer "shaky chassis" syndrome? This does not bode well for an Impala Sport.

When you say “shaky” are you referring to body roll? I drove a 3.6 Platinum and I did not find it to be shaky. It felt very large, which it is, and there was some body roll, but not shaky.

Maybe Cadillac can improve the roll and balance by lowering it a tad, adding better tires and using bigger sway bars.

If you read the review, the reviewers don't have any problems with the engine or fuel economy. It's the rest of the car's driving characteristics that they dislike - putting a V8 in there won't fix that. You're trying to fix the wrong problem.
