When properly photographed (not photographing the car kneeling) it's still a good looking car. Just not as good looking now.

Is it just me, or does that wood placement look really bad? Especially around the center stack. I get the impression of that cheap stick on after market crap.

The whole interior just looks dated. Worse yet, it's not sporty and it's about as well executed as something I would've expected from Buick five years ago. I see what you mean about the great big block of "wood" down there. Had they placed it elsewhere or used it a little more sparingly, just like the aluminum trim on the doors, it might not be so eye-catching. I think what's even worse is the black dash pad. It's so big/solid looking it's distracting and completely out of place (VW can do better). It looks like the color of the plastic around the gauges doesn't match up with the rest of the plastic either. Nice work.

GM when you bring out the next corvette please update the XLR. Do too the XLR what you have done to the next CTSV. Please make it hott everywhere! GM will be Damned if they mess this one up.

Re: 2009 XLR and XLR-V

XLR's problem is quite easy to understand really. In order to succeed in the market place at the price it sells for..it needs to be a better all around car than the Corvette. While it is better than Corvette in terms of luxury and comfort...it is a lesser car in every other mesurable detail..especially performance.

Put youself in the buyers shoes...
If some said for $80K you can have either a base Northstar powered XLR, or a LS7 powered Z06...I know what car wins 99 times out of hundred (no matter how old you are).

The other problem is..there is no prestige to owning a XLR. A Corvette is a Corvette..people grow up dreaming about buying one. On the other hand..no one has the same setiment about an XLR. In reality, if you buy an XLR...people will just snicker at you for spending Z06 money on a car that is slower, softer, and twice the price of a base Corvette.

Re: 2009 XLR and XLR-V

I still love the XLR. If I were to buy one though, I'd put the old front fascia and fenders on it. I also wish they would've spent $1.87 and changed the climate control color to blue so it would match the navigation and guages.

Re: 2009 XLR and XLR-V

Before I saw the spyshots, and now these, I was expecting Cadillac to retrofit the CTS interior infotainment system and so forth into this. It would have been better than that tacky outdated boxy nav unit.

This Cadillac fails my youth test, the CTS/CTS-V is hotter than hell, this is luke warm.

The interior isn't that bad to me. In fact I actually like it more than the one in the Mercedes SL.

Hi Branden,

I am a luxury buyer in this segment and you do not have a clue in this regard. Luxury buyers in this segment are specific in their requirements as I am and the bottom line is simply this, luxury buyers requirements vary in their requirements. We are not comparing Chevrolet's Corvette Z06 and ZR1 respectively. It is simply an apples and oranges comparison.
