Re: 2009 Cadillac XLR, Revealed!

I don't want a new grille GM. I want it to look like this.

Thank you, and good day.

2009 Cadillac XLR Press Release From GM

GM released a press release this morning about the 2009 XLR. You'd think they would have released more pics with it!

That was a stunning showcar.

Its a shame GM clinic'd the XLR and altered it. Still a nice car....but the show car was even sharper as you have shown.

Hmmm...still a nice car...just...I don't see the need for the reveal of an "all-new car..."

Thank God for those side vents- otherwise I'd never had known anything was done to it. Oh well, it's not a huge asset and GM really needs to put it's money into vehicles with more volume anyway.

The concept was perfect...until the accountants got their hands on it.

Re: 2009 Cadillac XLR, Revealed!

Wow...GM has gone bonker for side vents!!! I hate those vents esp. the fake one they sell at Wally World. Nothing new, the XLR just received more makeup and a new hair do. I like the concept pictured above this thread.

Re: 2009 Cadillac XLR, Revealed!

The concept's lower front facia looks AWESOME AND AGRESSIVE and the production car looks like they stoped designing below the headlights, on both the old one and this new one. Now its has chrome bars that do nothing.

I had the opportunity to drive one of these for a day a few years back and I loved it. If I won the Lotto I would have a V-series in my garage.

The side vents aside, I actually like how it looks.

Evoq was awesome. The actual production car was awesome.
The MCE is half-assed.

Re: 2009 Cadillac XLR, Revealed!

A clear, modern design has been clogged with an overly ornate grille and those laughable glue-on side vents.

With all the successes of GM design in the past few years, why would they allow this on their most expensive passanger car?
