2007 Cadillac SRX Sport Info

Link: http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...ticleId=109297

DETROIT — Inside Line has learned that Cadillac is in the process of sprucing up its SRX lineup, adding a first-ever sport model that may hit showrooms as early as this fall.

A Cadillac insider said the 2007 SRX sport model will be top-heavy on "appearance items," including 20-inch wheels and tires, a color-matched grille, and a list of new colors. An on-sale date and pricing have not yet been determined on the SRX sport model.

The entire SRX lineup will get revamped with a new interior that is being described as "a pretty thorough change." The SRX — which competes with such vehicles as the Acura MDX, the Lexus RX 330, and the Volkswagen Touareg — has been criticized in the past for having an interior that is too plasticky and not quite up to snuff in terms of its luxury competitors.

The SRX is a great looking vehicle in search of a great looking interior.

Here's hoping the new interior works!

oh, you just beat me to it! The interior does need sprucing up, it doesn't come close to the toureg for example. Otherwise it's an excellent vehicle that will just become better, exactly what GM needs to do to develop brand equity with the public.

Re: 2007 Cadillac SRX Sport Info

SRX better get a new interior, otherwise Buicks Enclave will outsell it.
RX is in trouble with the Enclave. If Enclave is as good as the show vehicle, it will be difficult for any one other than X5 to compete...X5 becouse its in a different price range.. up there with RR

I guess GM is listening now! I think they finally get the whole point about not letting a great, but not perfect, product rot until you have to dump the whole name and start all over again. By doing this, GM will address the shortcomings and keep Cadillac on the rise (sales)

This is good news. Cadillac is not resting on its laurels. Let's hope that this new interior is as good as they are touting it to be (if not better).

I hope the CTS is getting a new interior also-with the parking brake on the console-NOT the floor!

Re: 2007 Cadillac SRX Sport Info

Too bad GM dosen't have a crossover which competes with the Infiniti FX45. I've seen a few around, and they are sharp. The FX competes more with the Porsche SUV. It's breed to be more of a performance ride. But also has nice looks and materials.

An SRX with performance tuned suspension and high HP engine, could compete with the FX45. I think the FX has around 300hp. That's pretty close to the 315hp in my '02 Z28. The FX might even have more hp than my Z28.

So will we see this at NY, along with the aura and pickups and x-overs, that would be a big show for GM if it happened.
