When it was unveiled in 1993, some thought many of its individual design licks were outrageous, especially the overstated side-view mirrors, the maximized windshield wipers and the deep well in the trunk.

The 3.4 V6 was utter rubbish in my opinion, and the 3.8 V6 equipped cars were a revelation in comparison.
I want a car so violent that the mere thought of full throttle would cause a heart attack. That actually going wide open throttle in would result in nothing less than instant death!

Did they use 'this' 3.4 in anything else? was it the same as the minivan 3.4 in 97?

Not quite, this was an F-body specific engine. I think the heads were iron unlike the later ones and the valves were different. But still a 60 degree V6 with a similar block to the later ones and it was pushrod--this was NOT the DOHC 60 degree 3.4 GM had back then.

and now for the convertible version!!

    Reason versus passion.
Chevrolet relied on the fact that the young often confuse these two elements of life to seduce them with their 1994 Camaro so gorgeous as to tempt a saint, and giving them enough excitement to eradicate a ton of hang ups.
