Introducing the New 2011 Camaro 2LS Coupe
Again, an important factor in Camaro’s success is to continuously work on improving the product. As a point of evidence, Chevrolet is pleased to announce a new 2011 Camaro 2LS model that achieves an estimated 30 MPG highway which allows the Camaro 2LS to join the long list of Chevrolet models that achieve 30 MPG Highway or higher.

The Camaro 2LS is only available with the current six speed automatic transmission, and will include a rear spoiler, a 2.92 rear axle ratio and the current LS 18” Steel Wheels. With the introduction of the 2LS, the current 1LS (model 1EE37) will only be available with the six speed manual transmission.

Ordering for this new 2LS model starts with the Dealer Order Submission Cycle on Thursday, February 24, 2011, To order, all you will need to do is select model number 1EN37 when submitting your weekly orders. Similar to the Camaro 1LT XM/Accessory Appearance Package, there is no special allocation required for this new model, and orders can be submitted during the weekly order submission cycle for the remainder of the 2011 model run.

The MSRP of this package is $24,700 which includes the six speed automatic transmission and DFC (excludes title, tax and other fees).

Is the taller axle available outside of the 2LS trim? My dad might have been interested in getting it on his Camaro if it was around.

At first I thought GM just changed the model designation, as the LS Cruze is 2LS as well, but apparently this is something new.

What is the old axle ratio, and how much will performance drop off to achieve this higher MPG?

3.42 I believe is standard across the line up, except for the SS with 6spd manual gets 3.55.

Mustang achieves the 31mpg by having the same low gear ratio.

Wow, 2.92s are what the G8 GT. Lots of guys are changing it out to the 3.45 from the Camaro SS cars.

3.27 was standard in the Camaro prior to this new axle. The Camaro SS gets a 3.45 rear axle but only with a manual, I believe.

The 2011 V6 Mustang has a 2.73 axle standard while a 3.31 is available as a standalone option regardless of transmission. The Mustang GT gets a 3.31 standard with a manual with 3.55 and 3.73 axles optional. Mustang GTs with an automatic only get a 3.15 axle.

Unless you are trying to convince the misses you are not going through a mid life crisis you simply are being eco friendly in a sporty coupe package........do you think she would buy that??????????????? Nah but it might help some.
