Re: SLP Releases Info on G8 Firehawk
It looks like crap.
Sorry, but the flat black hood doesn't work. I've seen too many people who went to WalMart and bought a can of spray paint -- then painted the hood of their Civic or Corolla to make it look "fast." |

Re: SLP Releases Info on G8 Firehawk
My thought is what can high end tuners really offer anymore. Take the awesome GXP G8 and add some more hp and a little better braking for $20k? When you can get 400-500+ hp from regular GM offerings I don't think there is really much of a need for the tuner car. Yes, I'd love to drive one or even have one - but will I or most other people really be any happier or really even notice incremental improvements???? I guess that is why these cars aren't for most people. What can Lingenfelter (spelling could be way off) offer that will be better than the ZR1???? What can Koeing (I believe Koeing is the Porsche tuner) really do anymore for Porsche?????

Re: SLP Releases Info on G8 Firehawk
We need a Hurst edition similar to early 70's Grand Prix's. Offered only in black or white with gold. Special edition gold wheels. Offer an auto(maybe retune shift points) or manual. Upgrade the exhaust and intake, and make it only like $2,000 more than a GT. Oh by the way dump the G8 name and call our new niche car a Hurst Grand Prix!

Re: SLP Releases Info on G8 Firehawk
Possibly one of the tackiest looking packages for the G8 or the commodore. What's teh point of 500 HP if you look like a tool

Re: SLP Releases Info on G8 Firehawk
Saw this at the Philadelphia Auto Show (Camaro Enthusiast Event before it opened to the public). Attractive vehicle, but I'd still rather have my Camaro SS.
It seemed the G8 Firehawk was there exclusively for the enthusiasts as it was removed before the show opened to the public.

Re: SLP Releases Info on G8 Firehawk
I wonder who is going to sell them? This is not a factory option. Most consumers don't realize this is not officially a GM car. The warranty on the the parts of the car that have been modified by Firehawk are not covered by GM. Many Firehawk owners were surprised to find this out after they had purchased the car. Given the current state of Pontiac, it will be very hard to locate one of these cars. It's nothing more than a pipe dream folks.

Re: SLP Releases Info on G8 Firehawk
Im not a elitist but NO NO NO. I love slp (im about to buy a cai and LM2 dual duals for my firebird), stop milking the firehawk name and name it something else like the g8 gta for instance (even though it is made by holden but tuned by a american firm). Plus pontiac/and or alfa romeo still may own the trademarks.....but something other then firehawk please.

Re: SLP Releases Info on G8 Firehawk
Actually tolly time, it is a real car, hence it is no pipe dream. I think it looks tacky, but sales will not be hindered by the current Pontiac climate. People that buy these type of cars are looking for these type of cars.
It isn't like you need to tear them away from a Nissan Dealership because they have be hunting ofr something economical with nav and vibrating seats.
