Re: 2009 Pontiac G3 coming to the US
Forget about the Volt. This one is a game-changer!
That side vent makes it -oh- so sexy, too! And those fender flares! That cool antenna thingy at the top of the windshield! Drop-dead gorgeous! It is about time Pontiac has something world-class to sell along side the Solstice and the G8. I hope the wait lists aren't too long yet.

Most likely the first person to get the ***** knocked out of them by a Pontiac enthusiast! Bring back Lynn Myers; she at least seemed to fight for decent products!

Re: 2009 Pontiac G3 coming to the US
This is more reason why GM should just put all of its brands under one gigantic roof.
BPG dealers are right to ask for a fuel efficient car because without one, they have no sales. You can't compare Pontiac to BMW... People are willing to pay sticker (which most likely has a nice profit built in) for BMWs, but people still want to pay below sticker for a Pontiac. BMW owners will pay an arm and a leg to have their oil changed at the dealer, but many Pontiac ownwers scoff at the dealer's oil change price and will take their cars to Jiffy Lube. So how is a BPG dealer to survive without a larger supply of cars? Personally, I like the G3 more than the Aveo, and the G3 certainly looks like a mini-Vibe. Pontiac is already damaged goods, and given today's economy, GM can not turn it into a one or two vehicle brand and still keep it (and the dealer network) profitable. If GM (and many Pontiac die-hards here) want to see Pontiac as a RWD-only/sporty brand, give Buick the G5 rebadge. I know - dumb idea. |

Travesty. This is proof that GM has no idea what they are doing. Instead of spending money to rebadge the Aveo, they could have spent that money to make the G6 and the G8 better cars. This was completely un-necessary.

Kill Pontiac NOW. The dealers still have GMC and Buick, and begin incorporating Saturn to take the place of Pontiac.

2. They should be busy selling the massive inventory that they have of G6s, Lucernes, Yukons, and Sierras (all the same trim level and same color!). If they aren't, then they shouldn't be in business. Between the whiney dealers and socialist unions, I am already half a Toyota fan.
